So, I broke my right hand in a non bike related incident.

So now I have a 2015 PCX in the garage in the peak of summer in one of the most beautiful biking towns in the world. It will be almost two months till I`m able to ride. :(

Ouch Bro! sorry to hear that... winter in South Africa can't be too bad can it? Throttle or left hand?

Winter weather can get quite stormy in Cape Town .Hence the historical name "Cape of Storms" which is a maritime reference to all the sunken ships over hundreds of years . But we often have many sunny and even warm winter days.
It is my throttle hand.

My good flying buddy is a plastic surgeon with hands as his specialty - come on up! :P I even let him cut on me occasionally.

Oh that is sad n bad news :( Sorry
Mind if I ask, how did this happen? What bad timing for you (not that any time would be a good time, but I think you know what I mean). Bummer.
Did the Doctor say you needed a pin? Geez

Could have been pint. Personally I'd go for that option

Underachiever.

Get a pin and have a pint afterward :D !

2 Months sounds about right, quite good actually given that it's the hand, though it may take a bit longer to rework the muscles. Would totally suck to get overeager to ride, only to find out you can't squeeze that front brake as hard as you need to in order to avoid hitting that jaywalker :o .

I would say that you are lucky that it isn't going to be longer. When i broke my hand/wrist i was in a cast for 6 months. What a bummer. I did that in a motorcycle accident. I know that after the cast comes off you will still need physical therapy. Bad luck but still manageable.

Did your surgeon berate you for continuing to ride? Mine did today. The intern/assistant however seemed to note my full body armor & neck brace :D .

I busted my leg real bad a couple of years ago and had to spend 9 months in a wheelchair, no riding.

Sucks but those are the breaks!

I seen a hand specialist. He advised against a pin. There is a risk of infection that could result in a stiffening of the finger.
As I am a musician, just resetting the bone in a cast would be safer. The worse that could happen is that the knuckle may be slightly out of place but I`d have full mobility.
