Whew. Looked like highway robbery. As long as a company is fined I don't mind it as much.

We have a similar system with points except there are lawyers to fix everything for money so it never hits your record. I hate all lawyers except my personal attorneys.

Social media and detectors have made it tougher for LE to setup effective speed traps in my state. Everybody marks police when they see them in the phone app and we all always know where they are. Thank you Escort! The photo speeding lights are being fought in the courts.

This was taken from another MC forum that I visit. I think he was a one man company, so won't get the points but will have to pay the fine.

My lawyers are in the $150-250 range to fix a speeding ticket under 15 mph over. Beats points on a license which can affect insurance, etc..

I was running my own business up until June this year when I retired. I took one hit but paid the personal fine and lost 3 points. That was OK as I had no points up at that time. The bigger fine would have hurt a lot more, as normally I don't speed.

I have all the points back on my licence now.

"They say" wipe off 5 (i.e. 5km/h under the limit)

"They say" every km/h over is a killer

We have:
- a private company that call themselves the "Pedestrian Council of Australia" comment on the unlimited speed limit in a very remote section of the Australia where obviously pedestrians don't even exist.
- certain states that have hidden speed cameras everywhere and name them "Safety cameras" with 3% tolerance.
- red and speed cameras in one to create more distraction from driving safely in a lot of places.

So if you are thinking of visiting this great country and considering driving, then just be aware that they are super strict on speed related offences with very little leeway. But you'd be very unlucky if you were driving erratically and they say nothing about this being dangerous. *shrug*

Looks like in Poland it's not that bad. Stationary speed cameras must have a warning sign so You know there may be one ahead. And there is default tolerance 10km/h over speed limit. Meaning, when the limit is 50km/h and you're going 59km/h you don't get the ticket. Mind you, when you are 13 km/h over you get the ticket for 13 km/h not 3 km/h. Also this tolerance does not apply for mobile speed guns etc.

It always about the money. Scalping the citizens like a tax.
