Hi to all members of the PCX forum,
I just got my PCX this afternoon and it's my first scooter/bike

Couldn't belive how fast this baby could pick up speed I know top speed is about 65mph but boy it gets there quick,

Almost came off within the first 30 minutes of riding my new toy but managed to get it back under control
I was going off the main road into a side street and used my front brakes to slow down but hit the revs with my thumb at the same time by mistake and ended up on the other side of the road thank god no cars were coming towards me
Then I panicked a little and oversteered to get back on the right side off the road wobbling from side to side but kept the bike up,

Anyway thats enough about my first ride here`s a little info about me
My name is Dave but you can call me uploader seeing as we already have a Dave on the forum,
I`m 44 years old and live in the UK south yorkshire to be precise
My PCX is in white no mods keeping it as stock and its brand new
Look forward to being a member of this forum
ta ta for now :)

Welcome to the club, and congrats for that brand new PCX. So you got to top speed the very first day?. Well, some say modern engines do not need break-in, but the manual says you should avoid high revs and hard accelerations for the first 500 kms ;) . No criticism here, it's your bike, but just in case you didn't know this.

Don't worry, I was up to top speed within 15 minutes of its first journey
2350 miles later it still ran like a dream, top speed 68.

Same here. It's a 125... Kinda hard not to rev it all the way. I took off from the dealer at WOT. 8,000 miles later it also runs like a dream

Just ride it normally and not like you stole it and it will be fine.

Welcome to the forum!

As everyone has already confimed, you're probably okay with going full-throttle some, but definitely avoid staying at full throttle for long periods of time for the first few thousand miles. The key to a good break-in is hard acceleration and varied throttle. Make sure that right wrist is always moving to keep your revs varied. :)

Hi Dave/Uploader. Welcome. Yeah, just like some others have said, take it easy. I had a moment on mine 1st day, which got my heart racing very quickly. You soon build confidence and riding skills. Have you just done your CBT?

Hello and welcome to this forum.
Not had any moments riding the PCX yet, but had one or two when I first started riding my Deauvilles, which is one of the reasons why I went and did the Institute Advanced Motorcyclist skills for life course!!
