YES coat wheels and let us know how goes that! Tires, I'm still looking there are issues. Mich'es are OK but Pirelli looks better to me, go big and lose some performance... maddening!

GO BIG or GO HOME
If you ride on rough roads you might want to consider bigger tires...
(lose some performance, but gain some MPH)(mpk whatever

Going big is my plan has anyone fitted these sizes and did they rub any information is good information . I recon an upgraded vario will offset any performance issues

Yes, search for my tire posts... the front fender is ok, but the rear fender(inner) needs to be trimmed or stretched out of the way a little.

I put Mich City Grips on the front and back of mine. 120/70-14 on the front and 140/70-14 on the rear. They fit, but only just.
A few months ago I replaced my front fender for a custom one and when I took the old one off, there were tire rub marks on the inside. I do not know if the rub marks were previously caused or they were the result of the 120 size tire, but I have not seen nor heard it rub.
For the rear tire I raised the inside mud/water guard by passing a tie strap through an unused bolt hole and fastening it to the frame above. The unused bolt hole was from removing the stock breather and replacing it with a canister one.

Being a rookie rider, even though I am on my mid-50's, I hadn't given any thought as to how the ride might or might not change. I bought my PCX used and had only ridden 100-200 miles (200-300kms). One tire was a bit worn and I just wanted to see bigger tires on it. That being said, I didn't get more than 50-100 meters down the road after switching tires over and the difference in the ride was almost stunning. It certainly wasn't just in my head as some might suggest, because having a different feel to the ride had never even crossed my mind.

I know others swear by it...but I still don't get it...going with 140 rear and 120 front that is...
A) It will cost you accel
B) It will cost you top speed on a flat
Now, it will add top speed to your downhill speed, but won't show up on the speedo, but GPS will indicate it.
You will gain a bit more ground clearance, which is nice if you like to corner hard and scrape everywhere.
You will lose some ease in transitioning side to side as the new tires are 3-4lbs heavier each!
Yes, you can gain back some lost accel with a roller change in the variator. Others have proven me wrong and their pics seem to indicate the tire profile with the larger tires is still fine (not too pinched).
Me, I actually took the 180 off the rear of my 636 and threw on the lightest 160mm tire I could find. I also removed one of the two front brake rotors and calipers (6lbs) threw on a 2lb lighter front tire, and removed the radiator fan (another 2 lbs) for 10 additional lbs off the front. Difference was night and day! Thing felt like flicking over a PCX! Lol.
Anyway, go for it and take pix. It's a cheap gamble at close to $100US a set of tires.
