Aero PCX Project

Hello everyone, I am starting to move along with my PCX Project so I thought I would start a thread so in case anyone's interested in it.
My hope is to end up with a highly efficient and comfortable commuter. My plans are to create a fully enclosed fiberglass aerodynamic fairing, topped with an acrylic canopy ( similar to small plane).
This will greatly reduce aerodynamic drag and allow for greater efficiency as well as a higher top speed. Also, I hope to be somewhat more out of the wind and rain.

So far I moved my seating position in order to decrease the overall height the motorcycle and rider. Now I can get measurements of width and height along the length of the bike in order to begin drawing an ideal aerodynamic shape using CAD software.

I really did not like how the stock tank took up space and did not offer high capacity. So as you can see I made my own tank. It holds almost exactly 4 gallons, and I retained the fuel level float inside so the stock Guage still works. I used the original filler neck, fuel pump mount, and rubber mounts.

Awesome!!! I'm all about efficiency....whether for performance or economy. I've had several hybrid cars and currently own a Nissan Leaf EV. Had a deposit in the past on several prototype EV's that never made it to market (don't worry, got my money back). But always wished there was more innovation in the aero department as far as being more fuel efficient. Aero is a BIG problem for bikes. Will be watching closely to see how this progresses!

8) Yes, this will be a fun one to follow. (Das you out there? Did you see this?)
A bigger fuel tank Ohhh, fellow PCX'ers will be jealous/envious. And yeah Steph that seat looks angled in the right direction >> comfort plus. Gotta stay awake though
Color? :D White? :D Okay, nevermind, I like surprises

8) :) I see your feet are going to be way up front... how far forward do you think the "nose" will be?
Are you going to keep the stock headlight/position?

p.s. I can ride at that seat height by sitting on my "floorboard".
Very interesting riding perspective at that level  (hmmm maybe I need front pegs now ;) )

Unfortunately this PCX was totaled in a head-on. Many parts are still good including the engine, computer&EFI, wheels, suspension, and all body parts ( I didn't have them on during the collision).
I will sell the whole thing for 1300$

Sorry to hear about the head-on, but I did wonder about the seat being so low down and slung back - not sure that was the cause.

I was stopped at a stop sign and a 3/4 ton truck came off the highway and cut the corner into my lane. I had two reflective yellow vests on the bike and headlight and blinker on in the stock unmodified position, the police report showed the other driver was 100% at fault as expected. I had to get skin graft among other things but I feel very lucky. Be careful out there guys!

I'm going to be watching this thread VERY closely. I would love to make an aero fairing for my PCX if I had the time and money,

Sorry guys and gals, this project will have to go unfinished-I am selling this bike. After the accident I have decided I will never ride on the road again.
All the plastics go with it as well as the seat, undamaged.
Engine and drivetrain is undamaged, the bike actually still runs and rides.

Cool project, too bad it had to end soon. Do you have any more detail pictures of the bike?
