Two questions from PCX novice...

1. The rear wheel and tire seem to get really hot. When I parked the scooter today, I noticed this. The rear tire was pretty toasty. This kind of makes sense, since the engine is right there, but seemed odd to me compared to other bikes I've owned. Then again, they don't have the wheel and engine and trans all bunched up in one big assembly, either. Just wondering how hot the rear wheel and tire get on your scoots after light riding around town.

2. Parking brake or brake lock. Seems worthless. I pull it, lock the knob out, can still easily roll the bike with no perceived change in resistance, or just barely. I checked and the adjustment of the rear brake seems spot on, with correct play in the brake lever. Is there a way to get the thing to actually hold the bike like a parking brake should?

Thanks.

Re: parking brake, look down this thread http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=19& ... king+brake
Re: rear tire getting really hot - not checked that often, but after riding and checking to see how firm the tire is (not checked or put any air in in 4 months of ownership) it seems fine too touch it - barely warm. Perhaps it gets got if under-inflated and ridden fast?

Yes, check the air pressure. I have to add 2-3 lbs every month or so. This past time I let it slip, and it dropped to below 24lbs psi and I could really feel the difference in handling. Proper tire pressure is a "must do".
