It's HOT outside, DRINK ENOUGH WATER!

I had a hell of a weekend this last weekend.

I worked way too hard in the yard and actually gave myself a mild heat stroke! I ran out of water in the middle of working about 3 hours in, and at about 2pm on a sunny afternoon in Georgia (around 95F outside). I was too stupid to get more water and kept working anyways for another two more hours. I came inside and apparently looked like hell, my wife immediately could tell something was wrong. I just felt tired at first, but knew something was wrong after I went to the bathroom and had nearly brown-colored piss! I had a fever of 103, and couldn't stop shaking. :o

All's fine now though, just needed lots of water, a LONG and cold shower, and a couple of days of rest. Learn from my stupidity, and make sure you stay well-hydrated. I'm young and in great shape; I could have been a lot worse off if I was older or sick at all.

I'm just about back to 100% now, I even rode the PCX to work today. :D

Yes, the heat around here will sneak up on you for sure. My wife makes sure I drink a lot, even when I am cutting grass or riding the PCX. It is easy for me to forget to, and be like the rest of us macho men...push on through it. It'll be OK...until it's not. In Georgia, when it is 95 outside, you had better take in to account how high the humidity is.

Glad to hear that you are okay Dave. I did the same thing in NY 7 or 8 years ago setting up for my daughters high school grad party. Once bitten, twice shy.

I try to walk/jog 8.5kms/5.3miles four mornings a week. I drink about 750ml/26oz of water when I do but I still lose about 1kilo/2lbs each time because it is so hot here. Hydration is essential.

As far as learning from your mistakes, didn't someone have something like the following as their signature on these forums? ... "I have learned from my mistakes and I am pretty sure that I would repeat them perfectly."

Hopefully you don't have to repeat this mistake. ;)
