Afternoon all,

I’ve just completed my first home oil change, which for the mechanically-minded on here will be ‘so what?’ but for me was a big thing. My question is about servicing. I’d like to start doing as much as possible myself and would really like advice as to what I should aim to do next, and where to go for good ‘how to’ instructions. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

…and now I’ve just gone back to the forum front page and seen the ‘how to’ guides. Doh.

any advice I give should be looked at carefully . my body broke some more in old age, really rough 66 years.

Check the brake pads often. I always had a spare belt around.

The tires wear out quickly. I get tires from FortNine in Montreal for Canada

Parts are hard to get. Ebay??? Have a set of front and rear brake pads available

My plastics were brittle. the fuel gauge is joke.

Now riding a Piaggio one active electric Vespa. 25 km per day. It will last forever at that rate. where are my tylenols?

What you've done ,is the main thing. Some go by the "book", The oil change is most important. Other stuff is probably good to do.
I've personally neglected much of it and got away with it. Of course expendables have to be taken care of, Like Dave mentioned.
If it isn't broke, don't fix it has worked for me. Your choice. Enjoy your new ride. Good to see you back Dave!
