Engine revving and wheel spin on idle.

My pcx 125 is on, the engine is revving up to about 10mph on the speedometer and making a lot of noise. Problem is, I am not twisting or touching the accelerator at all. It only started this morning on my commute home from work, and didn't on the journey in 4 hours before. Any ideas?

Does the throttle have any play in it? generally speaking you should be able to twist the grip a little before you take up the tension on the throttle cable. If there is sufficient play i would recommend checking any vaccum pipes.

I'm not too sure though i'm just spitballing.

No play on the throttle. Feels like its stuck on low power.

i'd suggest loosening off that cable as a starting point and see how it performs from there. :) If it's only happened recently it could be a sticking choke but not too sure how they work on these bikes. I have yet to hear of cables shrinking! lol

unhook the battery and let the ecu reset itself, then start checking for sticking cables.
