2013 PCX150 w/7000 miles

A 2013 Honda PCX150 with 7095 miles was just posted on Craigslist for $1500, trying to determine if I should jump on it or not? Is 7000 miles a lot for these scoots? What concerns should I have? Should I let it go and keep waiting? These don't come up that often so just thought I would put it out there and see what advice you all might have for me.

Thank you!

If you've been looking for a pcx, jump on it!
If it runs good, fluids look clean, jump on it!
Most pcx parts(body etc.) are pretty cheap.
Welcome and jump on it!

Tell the seller you would like a dealer to inspect the vehicle (it is worth it). If he even remotely hesitates - walk away.

Ask for maintenance records. If he does not have any or they are not timely - walk away.

Even if he has done the work himself that is fine as long as he has records. If he did his own maintenance, ask to see his work area. If he delcines - walk away.

If the area and tools are not clean and organized - walk away.

The price certainly raises an eyebrow given how recent it is.

Some people here have over 20,000 miles on their PCXs. Most used scoots I see at dealerships are just over $2000, so $1500 from a private seller seems about right, especially if the person just doesn't want it anymore. By the way, my PCX is very well taken care of, but I wouldn't give anybody a tour of my work area or tools, and getting it checked out by a dealer probably isn't worth the cost since many dealers don't work on enough PCXs to be really knowledgeable about them. If you want a PCX and it runs fine, go for it. You might have to get a new rear tire since 7000 miles is roughly in the range where they need to be replaced.

Thank you all for the responses and advice, unfortunately, I was too late in "jumping on it" and someone else rode away with it yesterday. Oh well, by the time another used one pops up in my area, I will probably have enough saved up to buy a brand new one! The search continues.

Let me just say that 7,000 is not unexpected for a 2013. One of ours has 9,000 miles on it. We bought that one in August of 2012. It will be coming up on 2 years old soon. 7,000 / 23 = 304.348 miles per month if ridden year round;-) Just something to think about.

The question was 'is 7,000 miles a lot for these scooters'. Answer: No.

Quite right Mel! My experience with Honda is that their mechanicals' are top tier, and with fewer design and manufacturing flaws than most others. Of course they are not without error - anyone seen a Goldwing frame around here.... :)
If it is man-made, it can't be perfect. It cost Intel well into 9-digits to fix the Cougar Point chipset flaw!
