Ok guys I've screwed the pooch,

Went to change spark plug all going well then just as I had it tight enough go to remove the tool and it all breaks off,

What do I do now, can I attempt to cut the sides and remove with a flat head? Or do I need to bite the bullet and take it to a dealer to take it apart and remove?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would first try a dremel tool cut off wheel and make a slot in the stub(for a flat head screwdriver), and or keep chiseling it out... of course don't go into the threads.
keep the threads lubed!

Got the ceramic out so there is no risk of it falling into engine now, time to work out a removal tool to use?

Did you do this screwing it in or out?

Unless you cross threaded the plug, it should back out very easy. If the plug is sticking out a bit use what ever you have to grip the edge. Have you tried lubing it with WD-40? It may back out just using your finger.

Try one of the stripped Philips head screw easy outs.

You will need one of these.

They work fine. There is a reverse thread on them. You turn them anticlockwise to screw into the plug so it should come out as long as it's not been cross threaded. I presume the ceramic is out the middle so there is the hole in the middle?

Yes got ceramic out, that's great, actually at Thorpe park today XD, but will get on it tomorrow and update progress

Update that I solved the problem!

I decided to see if I could get a flat head down the hole and gently twist it out....
Turns out I could!

Well done. Mustn't have taken too much torque to get it out. So presumably the same to get it in

Bit worrying if the plugs are this weak

In 40 years of motorcycling this is only the second time I have heard of this happening. The first one was 2 months ago on a VFR 750.

I thought the same about the strength of the plugs as when it broke it was tightened to spec in the owners manual, thus I didn't consider straight away to just try a flat head, but unscrewing was almost frightingly easy aha XD
