For anyone thinking of purchasing a new 2011 or 2013 PCX, Honda Powersports (USA) is currently offering $300.00 in bonus bucks. This offer is good through 8/31/14.

Thanks Geezy for sharing that important info
I did check out a 2013 PCX at a dealer and he quoted me (on paper), $3,549. I think(?) that was an O.T.D. price. If not, then tax will be added (@ 8.625% on the dollar). Sickening right?
That brings his 2013 PCX "special" price to: $3,855.10
Not Good...right?

I've been checking around online at the local dealers for a new 2015 pcx but did find one store having new 2013 models for sale at $2700 (liquidation sales).

Is that a good deal? Doesn't seem to good as the new 2015 PCX was £2700 OTR - most dealers were offering new but older 2013 PCX's in stock for several hundred off.

My dealer here quoted $2999 OTD +tax / tag. ~ $3200.
He said there are a few 2013s left. Still....I'll wait.

Wow, surprised at that as three dealers I contacted quoted me the same stock list price (recommended price) which was £2700, two in London and one 100 miles away - it was even quoted as £2600 originally by two dealers but then Honda advised the new year prices and a few models went up £50-100 on the previous year (SHi and PCX).
All the dealers did offer good prices on the then current but older model, ranging from £2,300-2400 for the 2013 model but registered to the 'dealer' with zero miles - something that seems to occur quite frequently for some reason (pre-registered to the dealer as first owner). Wonder why they do that and not just hold them in the showroom, as the 2yr warranty does start once registered.

Interesting; never heard of that...
Few reasons justify the dealer as 1st owner:
1) Honda can't me made to accept a returned Lemon - circumvents lemon laws.
2) End of model year - gets unsold models off Honda's books.
3) Significantly shortens warranty time for street owner - saving Honda huge outlays.
#2 is thin but, there may be additional tax write-offs for Honda and dealer.
#3 seems likely. I do not know the U.K.'s laws but, if Honda's warranty does not transfer there... Hoooo, that would be a biggie! In the U.S. one could easily make the case for fraud if the model had it's warranty shortened by pre-registration. And our current corrupt administration would not need an excuse to shakedown and extort a business.

Pre reg is common practice in the UK motor trade. There a big bonuses from the manufacturer for number of vehicle registrations. The warranty usually starts when they are registered but you are getting money off so it's swings and roundabouts. There are big discounts to be had if you look hard enough, especially in car sales were there can be £1000s of the retail price.
It really depends on if it bothers you about an extra owner on the registration document or not. It wouldn't bother me too much.

Thanks for the update Alibally. Still, a fascinating way to do business. I'll have to think about that one.

Although mine was not pre-registered i'm not too worried about any warranty expiring as the dealership offers a lifetime warranty free with any new bike

I'm also in the Exeter area and thinking about a PCX, who was your dealer and are there any other dealers worth taking a look at? Thanks in advance.

Really! Is that not dependent on having the full Honda services done with them for the 2 years?
