PCX 125 vs. 150 wich one better for tuning?

Hello,
I have to decide in the next few weeks wich scooter I buy. Of course if i stay stock, the PCX150 will be the better decision.
But since I want to go big bore, I can´t decide wich one is better.

There are not many people who run a PCX 150 with big bore. To stay street legal, i can´t run a open airfilter, so i have to stay with the stock airbox.
So what would you buy?
On the PCX150 I see some main advantages:
-can run up to 64 mm piston (187cc)
-bigger head (bigger intake and exhaust valves)
-longer gears (not sure about it)
-bigger throttle body (26 or 27mm?)

The plan was to get PCX150 and buy big bore kit to 187cc + takegawa camshaft. Maybe change pipe from Throttle body to Airbox and buy better filter.
Also i don´t know how fueling system will react to this modification. Do i need also a bigger injector on the pcx150 to run it properly? Dont want to buy a AFR gauge + imap to adjust the air fuel ration.

I´ve read that a big bore PCX125 runs perfectly fine with bigger injector without any changes to the ecu, but most people use the 31mm Throttle body and manyfold. Maybe the OEM Throttle Body from the pcx150 will be to small for the bigger injector?

Get in touch with yuminashi about your dilemma, they've tuned both versions and will be able to offer good advice at which way to go about. I found them very honest when mining their brain for info..
By the way, where are you located?

Germany. I have to import the pcx150 from italy, which isn't a big deal.

I already wrote yuminashi, but didn't get an answer.

Also try Roman at RZ Racing in Netherlands. He is connected with Yuminashi and has just finished two 175cc builds for someone i know. Has a lot of experience from the recent builds and some cool ideas, also sells all the parts you would want..

The PCX150 does have longer gearing than the PCX125. But not long enough.
I believe it is just one gear that you can replace with a stock gear from PCX150.
But you might be changing that gear with an aftermarket one anyway.

Depending on the performance you are looking for, you might get the results you want from a 150 without increasing engine capacity.

I want best 0-100 times, so need more power. That means, there´s no way around a big bore kit 8)
Top speed of 120 would be enough for me.

if its 0-100 your looking for go with Yuminashi parts as they are more racing oriented and a daytona variator.

I think it comes down to parts availability, 125 parts are easier to get than 150.(U.S. anyways)
BUT PLEASE get a 150 and do the big bore and post all about here PLEASE! I've been craving more power since day 1.

Where is that helix or forza swap we've been thinking about? Hell what about a yamaha morphous swap or trexx swap? Or new kawasaki 300 swap? Their new scoot?

If a vendor makes a 4 valve head, it would increase performance marginally. it would be worth checking.
