Will pick up my new red scooter tomorrow. I have been reading a little bit on this site about various things to do for performance, I really do not want to hop it up but would like to enhance what is there or is it good enough as is and leave it alone. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Thanks

Get rid of the crap rear shocks, replace the "Arsekiller" saddle, throw away the shitty IRC tyres, fit Pirelli or Michelin.

OR, you could just ride it for a while and see how the stock scoot suits you. The only change we've made to ours are Givi smoked windshields. I'm fine with the stock tires. The rear shocks are OK; not great. I actually like the seat.

I, too, like the seat.

Ride it! I didn't need to do a thing to my stock 125 until the need to go on the highway came up. It's a great bike stock.

Welcome to the forums. :)

Mostly reiterating what has already been said... It's good the way it is for short trips. For long trips on the highway you'll need a taller windshield and a humpless seat. The stock tires don't last nearly as long as a pirelli or michelin. The rear shocks aren't very good. And if you ride very much on dark unlit roads you'll want to upgrade the headlights.

Oh yeah, there's NO CLOCK!

Wear bright clothing. Also, we put a Givi windshield on and changed out the seat. Then we added a Givi top box so that we could carry things, like more gas, since it has an extremely small gas tank.

I would just use it and see how you get on. The seats really only a problem if your tall and yes the tyres don't last too long but you might as well wear them out before replacing them. My fronts still ok but the rear is worn to the wear bars at 4500 miles.
Just think of how many miles of fuel you can buy for he price of "improvements".

Ridden my 125 every day for about 2 years, I've changed nothing, but there's now a clock on order and I'm thinking about a new seat for Xmas.. Might be because it's my first bike and I'm used to nothing else but every day I love it, even on the cold wet 5am commutes...

If it's a first bike then you've nothing to compare it to. They are perfectly ok as they are, but it's down to personal choice if you decide to do any mods.
