What do ya'll think of this quickie rack on our PCX's? Neat idea, yes/no?

I love it! This is exactly the type of thing I've been looking for to be able to avoid a top box. Seems like it's worth a try. Maybe I'll order one and let y'all know...

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking the same thing, but with the ever-so-strategically placed holes in it, along with my lack of power tools, I'm thinking it might be easier to buy it. I've spent a little while now browsing the web for similar alternatives, and this appears to be at least somewhat one of a kind.

Still don't understand the need to attach things to the scooter when a rucksack works so well

I am thinking that you could get a piece of aluminum from some place like Home Depot and with a little effort make one just like it. It is 17" X 10", so find either a piece of metal or a piece of wood.

Why not put the "rear trunk base" on it that Honda sells? You can strap stuff to that (you don't have to put a top box on it if you don't want to). IMHO, it would look better.

Why bungee this rack onto the seat then bungee items on the rack.
Why not just bungee them directly onto the seat?
This rack makes no sense at all.

gn2, I see what you're saying, but this rack adds the stiffness that's necessary to keep a softer bag from collapsing. If bags had a nice, stiff bottom like this, it would be a non-issue.

I've never had a problem bungeeing soft bags onto seats before, guess I must be a fifth dan blackbelt in bungee.

What Kermit said, and the fact that there would be accessible strap/tie down points, a nice convenience. (In my case, Less bending & hunting is better for back). This "fast rack" looks to go on/off easily, mounting a tailbag, duffle, spare helmet, jacket, whatever...would be a snap? Price not bad, and aluminum (right?). You just have to remember to be careful when lifting your seat With this fast rack in place, but then I'm careful just lifting the seat with nada on it. I know, I know, anal. I said it, so bit your tongue(s)
gn2, thanks for replying, appreciated. Wondering if you recall my post going back where I was in need of rear tie points for my tailbag? My solution was this: I mounted stainless eye bolts/washers/nylon nuts where the rear side reflectors use to be, just so I could mount my tail bags (rear bungee hooks) into them. The bags front bungee hooks go under the seat hooked into one another.
IF I had seen this rack sooner, I would have tried this first. Downside, my side reflectors are removed. Upside, my tailbag has reflective material on its sides, and I do have reflective tape available to add.
Let's see....Fabricating one similar to this fast one,... metal, aluminum or wood, I guess easy enough. I just don't have the time. A lot of mine spent with Mom in the Nursing Home. I'll be leaving in mins. as I just saw the time. Anyway, not the right choice for me.
About Honda's rear "metal" rack, I like it a lot and may still install one, that would give me another spot to carry "Stuff." Would want to stay balanced though. Not a big fan of stuff hanging out there in back either.

I believe we simply have different goals/ideas in mind in relation to a product like this. I'm sure it's not right for everyone.
