Shock Absorber Replacements

Can someone tell me how to get the top of the rear shocks off the posts?

There is not enough room up in there to get the shocks off the posts.

According to the factory service manual, you have to remove the rear fairings and then the under seat storage box in order to have clear access to the upper shock bolts.

This is what they did when they replaced mine.
