Hi there,

Last week I picked up a 2011 pcx125, enjoying it so far.

I wonder what people (Particularly in Australia) have tried as far as headlight upgrades? I am considering some LED replacements, or perhaps a HID upgrade.

any thoughts?

Cheers Matt

Four

The headlights are perfectly fine, the beam pattern is good, the light output is good and it looks good.

I agree with the OP. I just got my PCX and find the lighting disappointing and inadequate on both high and low beam. No comparison to the lighting on full-size bikes I've owned in recent years.

It only goes 60-odd mph, you simply don't need better lights.

Brighter front lights will technically slow you down by the tiniest bit

When you reach the speed of light with the jcosta kit do the headlights work?

Hello to everybody from Turkey. This is my first message in this forum. I want to install xenon kit for my 2012 PCX ESP. Does it effect start-stop system ?

No idea in regard to answering your question, but wanted to take the opportunity to welcome you to hondapcx.org. Post some pics in the gallery section and let us know a little more about yourself. I visited Turkey 8 years ago and loved it.

The stock lights are utter crap.

Only if you mostly ride on lit roads.

WHAT?!?! :? In an another thread you recently confirmed the lights are NOT good... See the following quote from this thread:
Cracksta wrote:yep, your lights arent faulty and this is something i've noticed too. Most of the streets I ride have some street lighting so not quite pitch black.

Yes you will probably need additional lights as mentioned, good luck with the modding!

LMAO, is 60mph in Scotland the same as it is in the USA?

The beam pattern of the PCX is good and it does leave both lamps on for low beam but 60 Watts total of halogen light is not quite enough for commuting in bad weather. Cars get to use 110 Watts plus fog lights. Why do motos have to get by with less? We need more if anything.
Write to DDM Tuning to ask which HID bulb will fit in place of the HS5.
.
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-H ... 35W-or-55W
.
They have specially designed bulbs (the fire is in the same place as a halogen) which give an acceptable pattern with very little unwanted splash. I have one in my CBR250R and it is much better.
.
I also have a pair of led spots from ADV Monster on the CBR. Very similar to the Denali's but much cheaper.

.
You wouldn't need them though if you put two 35 Watt HIDs in the PCX. That should be very nice. I will probably do that myself.

Nothing yet. Although this is still my main commuter. Almost 10,000 miles.

I agree after having an accident where the driver asked if I had my headlight on I would like a better light myself. Personally I don't think that she looked to her left before she turned but the more I can be seen the better in my opinion. My husband just bought Signal Dynamics Back Off XP/Brake Light Signal Module for both his motorcycle and my scooter. I am thinking about an HID mod for my headlight as well.
