Yuck! I've ridden through a swamp in Florida, I'd imagine I had a similar experience...

I have said this before, but I'm not sure if I mentioned it on this forum. If you clean your Plexiglas windscreen with standard window cleaner you will leave small scratch marks on it. After cleaning it with soap and water, use Novus #1 plastic cleaner. I read about it on another forum and decided to try it myself. Now we clean the windscreens before each ride with this stuff and it is wonderful! It seems like it fills in those little scratches or covers them somehow. All I know for sure is that this stuff is the best I have ever used on my bikes. No, I don't represent any sales organization of any sort. I just want to let you know how really great this stuff is. I also bought the other parts of the 'kit' (I think there are 3 parts to the kit plus some rags for polishing, but you can use an old Tee shirt and get the same effect) to help me get rid of some really bad scratches on one of my windscreens and it did the job. I think I bought the stuff on Amazon. I think the #1 cost me around $7 for 8oz. but it is worth every penny.

The Novus #1 sounds good! I've been using a product called All Kleer by Black Lab Corp, and it has some pretty amazing plastic-protecting and -cleaning properties. Bugs are easier to remove if they stick at all, and it repels rain and fog-up very well. You do have to use it often (2-3 times/week) to get the best effect, but you can use it sparingly -- I still have the 8oz. bottle I bought several years ago, and it's not even half empty.

I will definitely have to try that one. I have been using the Novus and it works great but I've been thinking that I will also have to put some kind of rain repellant on if I keep getting caught in the rain. I thought about that Rain-X but am not sure if it would work on plastic. I think I will try the All Kleer. The one thing I do know is that these products that are specifically meant for Plexiglas work quite well, much better than just Windex.
