So I recently waxed my scooter and it looks good, but I got some wax on the plastic muffler cover and floorboard area plastics and it won't come off. Just fogged white streaks right now. Any good tips to get it off?

Mr. Clean Magic eraser. Get the eraser sponge damp and the wax residue will come off without damaging the plastics.

Okay thanks. My dads friend helped me wax my 04 mustang for my 18th birthday so I waxed the scooter and helmet as well. As soon as I tried to wiped the wax off it stayed. I think because it is a textured surface. And I never sit the scooter in the sun unless I have to.

You should never apply any kind of polish or cleaning solution to a helmet.
There's also no point wax polishing the plastic panels of a PCX.
Or washing it come to that.
Just leave it out in the rain and it will self clean.
The only bit of a PCX you need to clean are the chrome fork stanchions.

Err. Don't wax plastics. Wash your bike when it needs it with a salt free wash. Wash any road salt off in the winter with cold water. Apart from that, just ride it?

Well I waxed it according to manual, just got some on plastic. And why no wax helmet?

If you just got some wax on the plastics that's fine. Hard to get rid of the white residue. Try white spirit

For the helmet etc. The question would be why wax? What do think wax is, what is the benefit ?

Because you will damage it.

How would it damage it?

Don't you have to know the material first?

Chemicals and abrasion.
Use the wrong chemicals on your helmet and you can significantly weaken it.
Polishing will always cause abrasion.
Just give it a wipe over with a damp microfibre cloth.

I didn't use polish, just a wax. Different things

Regardless of whether you used polish or wax, I affirm what Gn2 says. Putting any chemical on a helmet (or almost any plastic product for that matter) can compromise the material. Not that it necessarily will compromise the product, but it can compromise it. Paint is an absolute no-no. Helmets are meant to be left 'as is'. Why would a person bother to wear a helmet if they are going to run the risk of compromising it's quality? As well, it is recommended that any time a helmet is is hit, it should be replaced in case it has received even a small 'invisible' hair line crack. That said, the reality is that probably no one replaces a helmet if it is hit unless it has been a significant force.

Ok the helmet wax was just because it is a shiny black hard material and just shined it up. Plastics again was just by accident. And waxed the scooter because it now looks better

You can use it on the black plastics, screen and top box just fine. Wanted to make the most of the sun so gave my scoot a FULL clean then put this on and it looked like new, very impressed! Same goes for the Muc off cleaners.

Errrr nooo,has no one seen gn2's Pcx photos? It looks like its 20years old with 100000miles on the clock....
Wash your scooter regularly,it only takes 15-20min. Polish it if it needs it and use wd40 on black plastic bit for shine and sun protection. It will look new for years to come...
