Racing idle speed and speedo fluctuations.

Hi All,

I started noticing on my PCX 150 fluctuations on the speedo. reading higher or lower than actually speed by 20 kms over.
That went on and off for a week or two - not consistent. But there.
Then I started noticing that at stop the idle seems to be fault ering felt like it would stop.
This I discovered after was because when its on the centre stand the rear wheel was spinning fairly fast - showing about 5 to 10 km per hour on the speedo.

So after reading a bit I'm thinking it's the IDLE AIR Control Valve - IACV but don't know anything about the way they work and if it can be reset or if its the problem at all.

Thanks

I had the idle issue. Turned out the IACV was bad. Unfortunately for me I had to change the entire Throttle body and Wire harness given 2017 models are weird in between models.

Try cleaning your IAC. see if that helps.
As for the speedo, No clue maybe a bad speed sensor?

HI Conelite,

Thanks for the info and help, did clean out the IACV but the problem is still there. Looks like I just need to replace. When you said IACV was bad - what does that look like or was there a way to test? What ever way I look I think I'll need to replace. Thanks for the advice.
Re the speedo sensor? any idea where that sits in the scooter?

The IAC is #7 in the diagram. Not really a way to test it but only by cleaning it.
