Engine seems to start slower than usual

Recently, when I pressed the left brake lever together with the engine start button at the same time, it seemed to hesitate for a bit before starting up.

What are the possible causes?

How does the PCX start its engine up?

My 2013 did the same thing. Turned out to be a weak (old) battery. New battery = all is good.

+1 for the battery.

Just be aware that they can deteriorate pretty quickly from there meaning that "you ain't going nowhere" (to use some frightfully bad english). I got about 4 years out of my OEM one.

Also be aware that there's often quite a variation in prices; I got my replacement from a specialist battery shop at less than 2/3 (closer to half) the price others were charging (having said that they do give me trade rates).

As an "aside" I actually carry a small 2AH gel-cell lead acid battery in my top box so that I can self-jump-start if I leave the key turned on accidentally (something I'm prone to do in my old age from time to time). It's pretty small & pretty cheap - and does the job. Also made up a couple of leads that go from the battery push-on type tabs to some small "jump start" type connectors.

The Honda PCX uses a Stator in conjunction with the Flywheel. This is all behind the radiator.
