Has anybody ever tried the belt designated above? I am going to get a new belt for my PCX but I'll be f**ked if I am going to spend my bucks on dealer recommended wares.

There are only four brands worth looking at, Bando, Mitsuboshi, Gates and Dayco.
Everything else is shite.
Bando and Mitsuboshi are Honda oem, Gates and Dayco are aftermarket.
All belts have aramid (or similar) fibres in their construction.
OEM is best.

My experience is limited to one belt change.
The OEM belt was around $40, with shipping.
Aftermarket belt was $30-35,
Seems like a small difference over a few thousand miles ?

My local dealer had the belt for $32. Sometimes they surprise you.

I've seen prices that range from crazy cheap to crazy high. Usually, when I go crazy, it's on the cheap side. But the price you mention is about what I paid last time. And, I suppose, any money I might save going cheap will be paid out again (after having been multiplied by a factor of 5 or 6) when the cheap belt breaks and I have to have the bike hauled back home.

Well, so far, any surprises I've gotten from my local dealer have hit me hard below the (money) belt. I avoid him religiously therefore.

Partzilla.com has the oem belt for a little over $32 ($32.22) if you count shipping. I think that is a fair price. I bought one from them in the past and it is still working nicely.

I was hoping to hear something encouraging like: The cheap ones last just as long as the the expensive. That's what I want to hear!

Yes that is abut as good a price as you will get--Ebay may have one a bit cheaper.
