No Bars!

Didn't really mean to do this 20 miles from home!
Made it to the SHELL station for some good stuff....
Might have had another 40 miles of gas in there. Might have.
The trip gauge is only good if you were completely full the last time!

Hmmm....if nothing is blinking then you may have some gas left in your tank...or...you may be pushing the bike to the next gas station.
I have a motto when I drive or ride: "If the gauge says half, look for more gas". I still recall the days when there was a gas shortage. Never go out with just a 1/2 tank. There is no guarantee that the next gas station will be open or have gas.

??? Trip gauge works perfectly, assuming that you actually FILL the tank before zeroing. My '13 has a 1.56 Gallon tank per the manual. At ballpark 100 mpg, that's 150 miles. I fill up at anything above 110 miles, and don't really get nervous until 130 or so. I live in a densely populated area - it would be very weird to be more than 15 miles from a station.

Was thinking I could barter a couple of my emergency Moon Pies for a pint from a farmer....or borrow one of his riding cows to fetch my own.

I've heard stories of people using camping stove and lantern fuel in an emergency for lawn mowers and vehicles. The older vintage cans actually used to have "gasoline" on the labels.
Not recommending it but heard it somewhere . . ..
It can't be good for the engines even if it does work.

When I head out into the countryside I carry a 1 gallon spare can behind me, just in case. I have heard of others who have the special MSR containers attached to their bikes with spare gas. It is always good to think and plan ahead, just in case.
