I can feel your pain- having to wait for nice April weather to get the scooter out, but 35 miles for your commute will give you a lot of time to ride. Interesting to see that you bought a black PCX- I thought they don't sell that color in the US.

Best regards,
Klaus
Vielen Dank! Yes, it's last year's model, when schwartz und weiss were the farben choices (you can imagine how many years ago I studied German -- congratulations on your excellent English).

You're not too far from me, suffering till April here in Minneapolis when I'm hoping i can pull my white 2015 out of the basement for a early ride. Gotta love living in snow country huh?

I live outside a little city called La Crosse, and work in the downtown area.
My antique CB550 let me dodge the cost of parking near my job, and the PCX will do likewise, with the added benefit of 80+MPG and much less maintenance.
Thanks for that db22 ;)
Yes, we did have a streak of milder days in December. Broke a few temp records the weatherman said.
I missed the opportunity to ride on those days. (My Mom took ill) No problemo, I'll make it all up somewhere along my life's journey :)

Heh! Cold is Here! Yesterday it snowed at the East end of Long Island, that would be The Hampton's and Montauk Point. Just a dusting, as they call it. My nephew informed me, he's vacationing there now. Odd time to hang out in Montauk, but I'll take it anytime of year. Sooo....no more warm days until months from now
Alrighty then! Off the cold temps and onto asking.....

Can we see a pic of your antique CB550? Sooner or later someone was gonna ask (one would be me :D

My last bike was a ΥΑΜΑΗΑ FAZER 600cc / 97 HP and the last 5,5 years i ride a HONDA SH 300 abs/cbs everywhere from downtown to the mountains.

You will get used to it but sometimes you will miss the power of the big bike .

So i wish you happy riding on your new PCX, it's a great liitle scoot i personally bought it for my younger daughter but it gives me a big smile every time i ride it and especially with it's smooth almost electricall engine and the very low consumtion in the city limits.

I will advice you to change the tyres because they are not good in wet conditions.
I changed them after the breaking in period at 1.200 kms and i put BRIDGESTONE BATTLAX SC.
The most wonderful thing about the internet: I buy a new bike and complain about the snow, and someone sends me a video of riding in the mountains of Greece under a cloudless sky, set to fabulous Greek rock'n'roll with a Zydeco beat. Thank you, ONTWOWHEELS!!
You are welcome !

The old 550s -- found as piles of parts, put into riding condition (more or less) and enjoyed for five seasons. Now in the hands of a family with two teenage sons, for further customization and who-knows-what. Most weeks I spent more time working on them than riding. The PCX will reverse that situation.

I guess it makes the arrival of spring that much sweeter, huh? Trying to put the best spin on it . . .

You are too kind -- they were a bit on the amateur side, but I learned a lot about engines -- how they work and how to maintain them. What's the best shop manual for the PCX? I don't see it listed in Haynes or any other aftermarket manual publisher's lists. Honda links to a publisher from their website for the factory shop book. Does anyone here have experience with that one?

Wow, what a great video -- if I ever make it to Greece, I'm going to rent a scooter and head to the mountains right after I tour the Parthenon. Thank you!

I own a 2001 Honda Goldwing and wanted something smaller to throw on the back of my RV. I decided on the PCX 150 and it fits just fine on a bumper hitch. I just took it to Stone Mountain, Georgia from Florida and I had something to get around on while at the campground. It worked out perfect!

If only you could send us a bit of Florida sun via internet . . .
Is it true that Goldwings have a reverse gear? I never rode anything bigger than a Kawi Z1, about 550 lbs. I'd be sunk if it tipped . . .

Rode my new 2015 PCX 150 home from the dealer today! Bright sun and 55F/12.8C, tailwind the whole way home. No trouble cruising at 55mph/88kph. It rides very smoothly, turns very smartly. Our roads are still sandy from the winter ice treatments, so I didn't push things. We'll have more nasty weather before warm days arrive to stay, so for now I'll be riding a few miles at a time, to learn the feel of the machine.

Looks like a collapsible fishing rod and a small tackle box will fit nicely under the seat, with room to spare for a soprano ukulele (don't laugh!).

Got 37 miles on the odometer, just riding around my neighborhood. I found the cockpit too cramped and performed a "humpectomy", making the perch higher and moving my tailbone aft. I fabricated a completely new cover of marine vinyl, and bought a cheap pneumatic stapler from Harbor Freight to anchor it to the seatpan.
I find the bike to be smooth and agile. Considering my advancing arthritis and other ailments of old age, I feel that I sold the '75 550s at just the right time. The PCX is about 120 pounds lighter, easy to put up on the centerstand, and plenty fast. I have no trouble cruising at 55mph. Next item will be a windshield -- National Cycle's website now lists a version for 2015 and 2016 PCXs. I will post as soon as I acquire one and test it out.
