Still dunno why you left the old belt in there. With 2500 miles or so, top speed will be down 2-3mph over a new belt. Go ahead and throw the good one in there. =)

Agreed, even though it looks in tact it will be losing you top end. i lose 5mph after 1-1.5k miles

Yes - I will eventually replace it. I'm just doing a step-by-test test since it is so easy to work on (in the warm basement). :P I figured I would have it apart a few more times at least. Maybe not ten.

He is only losing theoretical top speed on the stand with the old belt on there. So if he only gets 81 mph on the stand instead of 84, on the road if he regularly hits 75 mph either way he will be lucky. My belt went 16,000 miles.

I am actually only looking for about 75 mph practically on the road. If I get a belt to go even 5000 miles and stay there that would be great.

Are there any better third party belts?

Well, my theory is that that last few mph (75-80mph) put the scoot at the highest RPM range where it's not making as much power. Better to gear it for 80 and ride it at 75mph, than gear it to redline at 75mph. So in that regard...throw that new belt on there!

But I only planned on running it at 70 mph with a 5 mph buffer.   They don't trust us to go that fast in Missouri. o_O have you seen my videos? You could end up 200 ft down a ravine on some of the hairpin turns. Straight and level is rare indeed.

I hope you are running 10W-40 at those high speeds. I get a kick out of the oil debates. On Autos too...

I have multiple questions now. First let me say that I plan on installing one part at a time, in case there is a problem during the test rides. What should i expect from just installing the 13 gram rollers before installing anything else?

second question: i have a new standard belt to install. Will this be fine or should i get one of the reinforced belts others are gettintg?

last question: Has anyone found the correct clutch holding tool for this bike? The one i have been looking at on Amazon is the one Dave suggested. He had no problem with it, but he's a lot more experienced at tearintg these bike down than many of us. So before i buy it i want to be sure it is not the one others are having problems with.

I made the other one work too off of Amazon. The larger nubs are fine for the clutch. They worked on the face plate but didn't fit the holes.

I saw this one and it has a smaller size of numbs on the other side. Not sure how good it is.

If I can do this right here is how to make your own holding tool. http://www.leroybeal.net/motorcycles/si ... ytool.html

The issue is the NCY face plate has only fins and no holes. That is why some are suggesting a strap wrench. I stick the ears from the amazon wrench bottomed into the fins and locked it like that. I was a bit nervous that a fin might snap but got lucky and made it to the 44 ft lb.
