Winter's coming. Get your riding while you can!

Did you know your right foot is 2.4" bigger than your left? Do you find yourself turning left alot?
(only on a scooter forum will you someone with the courage to post pictures of stockinged feet.)

Well, we went for another ride today in low 50 degree weather. This time I put on my neck protection and things were great. My Tour master jacket was great, and my winter gloves were great too. We only came back home because my wife was cold. She needs a winter coat to ride in. She finds all sorts of excuses for not wearing armor while riding, so the best I can do is suggest that she buy a winter coat to ride in instead of just her fleece one. If I could buy her a real riding coat with armor that did not weigh her down, I would. I tried to but she complained that it was too much weight, and that she had problems putting it on and taking it off. So i don't know if it is good or bad that she likes riding. It is great to have her riding with me, but I am always worried that something will happen and she will crash. So I stick close to her.

I now always were an armored jacket. I have a black armored jacket that I use under my Rev it H20 Hi Viz rain jacket. I wear a warm jacket under armored jacket along with a down filled vest. I feel a little stuffy. But, want to be protected.

I finally got out for a ride today. 3 hours at 37 deg F and 138km later. My feet froze. I started off cranky, it has been a rough week. The cemetery was est 1887, it was a welcome reminder that any one of its inhabitants would be happy to change places with me. The two wheeled therapist did it again.

Next time its over sized boots and layers of wool socks!

@MikeP- Cool Photos. Amazing to see the boats still in the water. By me, all the pleasure boats are out for the winter. Got up to 50 degrees F. Didn't have to use any hand or toe warmers for my ride today. You should try the Toastie Toe warmers they worked good for me. Looks like you got the other parts covered.

We took yet another ride today. After we bundled up it was a great litte ride. I don't think we rode more than 30 miles, but it is so great just to be able to get on the bikes and ride that i don't care if it was a short ride. It felt so good that i could have riden for the rest of the day, but my wife got cold so we headed for home, stopping off for coffee at a small coffee shop first. Oh but the rains are coming tonight...hmmmm.

Getting ready to take off for our Monday ride. Vacation day for us both. Rained over the night. But, the roads are only damp. Temp is 45 F. I did use the toe warmers today. No hand warmers in my mitts. If it was any colder I would have.

Landed at our favorite coffee shop 17.05 miles later. Found out yesterday that after today they will be closing their doors for good. Hope that another coffee vendor will occupy this place. Nice to come here. Been lucky with the weather that we been riding this late into the season. Might be spring before we make our way back here. Maybe the coffee shop will be re-opened by then On the way back, the sun broke through the clouds. Lovely to see this.

We have 3 Tim Horton's here.....but one is pretty cool: they have a chess club of old guys on Tues morning taking 2 or 3 tables with the owner's OK.
But 45 mins away is my village (full of lovely wierdos since the 50's) that has 3 coffee shops. Two on the main drag, & one off the beat...but this one is the coolest with ambiance out the wazoo. The Spirited Goat.
I would be really saddened if I lost any of the three...so, I feel for you two. Riding a scooter (a blast) to your coffee shop is so much fun. An outing.
Shoot. I hope you two find another place to go .

(FYI: I bought this Honda with these shops in mind. My Kymco would be running on the ragged edge to get me there...no fun, and certainly not a relaxing outing. This Forza makes it relaxing and worth my investment - esp when I can convince my wife to ride along next spring. Kymco got me into scootering - and I use it for bad weather and/or work commutes...until I sell it next spring.)

Yep, sad isn't it when we look at ours all covered in crud around the engine area, even the wheel hubs are dirty. Nothing we can do cause as soon as you clean them, they get messed up again. It can't just be down to more rain, but cleaner air, cleaner rain (not as much dust trapped in it) and cleaner tarmac so the bikes get wet, but not so dirty. My theory anyway

I think your right. They have been spraying that liquid salt brine on the roads in case it freezes here. Well its all over my bike. I power wash it on occasion, but its a temporary clean.

That salt brine sux. The only trick is I don't ride when it is damp or moist on the pavement. Even crossing a wet spot makes me cringe because it throws junk up. Then I use Formula 33 on the bikes after I return right away. They pretty well look showroom new.

Um, if you're worried she'll crash, I'd give her a bit more room. :0

Anyway, rode to work today: 40 degree F, 31 degree windchill. Cheated, though, as I took the bike with the full fairing. That fairing is so good, all I wore over street clothes was an Aerostitch suit with a windbreaker.

Looks like your husband's hi-viz jacket has lost some of its "zing," at least compared to yours. Had my hi-viz Aerostitch onesie on today. Neck to toe neon action (helmet is white). Woo-hoo!
