What brake pads are recommended?

For the rear, the cheapest ones you can find and change them every time you change the rear tyre.
For the front, Honda originals.

Turns out I had plenty of pad left all around. Just lubed up the caliper and cleaned up the existing pads and ready to rock.

I highly suspect that the lube disappears from the rear brakes due to the very hot exhaust being very close.

I might try that next time.

I have been using Kleen-flo eZe Slide Brake Lubricant #331 which claims it is "designed for extreme operational temperatures"

Most braking systems get hot when in use and cool down until you brake again.

The rear Forza brakes get hot and the muffler keeps it hot.

I used the eZe Slide on the front brakes and got 100,000 km out of my pads. The rears are not so good.

It would be interesting to use an aftermarket muffler with a slightly higher placement/angle.

I just looked at Honda UK, the 2nd gen Forza 300 and the Forza 350 both have an upswept muffler versus the horizontal muffler of my Canadian 2014.

But the caliper is still tucked in behind it same as before.

I just saw a FB video of a Thai guy put on a Brembo caliper for rear brake. It's mounted below towards the back of the bike - kind of opposite original. He has the same problem of pads sticking and touching the disk after release, in fact I think he has sintered pads and they make a terrible noise as back wheel rotates....(hence he posted and complaint).

I think the issue is that the back piston does not fully release and keeps the preassure due to Honda Combined Braking System...., it has some kind of a distribution valve on the rear brake fluid system that closes/locks and keeps pressure on the piston, this could be by design or by becoming faulty, on some bikes (can't remember) it was replaced on recall due to leaking. This might be the culprit for sticking pads, not the caliper and not the heat etc.

No, I can't test it and have no proof...!!! Just my theory....
