Must we have a tutorial video on this? Sasso, I think I see where this is worthy of further discussion.
The quality of these rubber tubes are not pliable enough to stand the test of time, even mine on a one year old PCX has hardened to the point it most likely won't be reusable. Squeeeeze the tabs on the retaining clip and slide the little compression coil down to the lower end of the rubber tube. At this point all the muscle you have may not allow the rubber to expand enough to slide off the drain port. These are plastic so you could snap the whole thing off the air box trying with tools o_O

At this point I would razor off the old tube and consider it a loss seeking to replace it with a fresh clear rubber tube. The lack of elasticity of the clear rubber is where I underestimated your boggle now... I apologize after attempting to remove mine. You are correct to be frustrated, perhaps some heat would actually bring softening to the original tube but then we are back to setting the bike on fire LOL

I was going to do a tutorial but I can't get the lens cap off my video camera.

Can anyone help?

A tutorial would be good

I once lost the sound on my Dell laptop.

I found a tutorial to fix the problem on Youtube.

It was an audio clip.

Can't believe there's 24 posts about taking a bit of plastic tubing off.

Yes this was a funny and then humbling, followed by a learning experience for me. Some of the smallest things are the biggest PITA. I still feel the need to get mine off without destroying it somehow.

Chief says I need to apologize to the guy again.

Can't help but imagine that in a parallel universe somewhere the second post in this thread is simply the word "Hairdryer" and the third and last post the word "Thanks" :D

Probably a very boring parallel universe though.

Anyways the hairdryer applied to mine for a minute softened it enough to come of real easy.

Whoa WN, Pull in the reins. Honda dealer can order it! Might even cost less ;) but, Why bother? We're getting them off! :P

TaDah! sasso...where are you? Come on back and tell me that the hair dryer/blower worked. No worries about a fire, we're not Baking that tube ;)
Seriously, I need to know you're happy and that you got it clean again.
Why buy another tube if we got this all figured out. Right?
I'm here, please come back

To Robert R ;)

Lolz. So tried the heat method and it still wouldn't budge. Then I tried the "partner who fixes everything" method and what do you know she took it off.

I think I am just afraid of braking things and so never go hard out on pushing/pulling things. This has been the case with a lot of different things in life. Putting together computers being one of them.

Anyway its off, and not much was in it. SO THERE YOU GO. A thread about the tube on the back of a PCX.

Slipped back on just fine.

Glad I can help.

I knew it was a silly question however I tend to have trouble with things as I don't "go the full mile" and am learning as I go. For example recently broke some of the connecting plastic clips while removing the rear pillion handle cover. Metal things I am more "strong" with as they are less prone to easy breakage.

Anyhoo....

Hey Sasso, we all start somewhere and we all make mistakes, part of the living process ;)

Next,...No question is Silly. Some of Us sometimes make it silly just to have some fun.
But never refrain from asking your question(s) please.

As far as breaking bits and pieces on our scoots, I would venture to say that the bulk of owners have done the same. I have.
Sure, we do this at first > o_O but really, it's No biggie. Another learning curve, tis all.

Glad you're aboard. Stay put and learn on! :P

This was a fun thread i'm sad its over, you are correct you can't muscle things apart on PCX as I caught hell for not taking the time to fiddle with trim clips in a video. Your question caught us off guard because it was so peculiar and original. We need more original problems so thanks for that.
