I have looked everywhere on the bike the code is not there. I went to the dealer he could not find the code. The service manager looked in all of his parts books and there was no key available for the bike. How do I know if it is a transponder key? One locksmith said if it is not a transponder key he can make me a new key. Another one said he can make a key for 250 dollars WTF. The dealer wants to put in a new ignition for 530 dollars! I looked on ebay, I was unable to find a blank key for my bike.
MY wallet was stolen and I lost the key with the tag on it. Ugh.
I am at a loss what to do. I keep writing to Honda PowerSports on Twitter asking about the key and they are ignoring me.
I have 1,500 miles on my 2017 bike. I am beyond disgusted.
I don't know what a transponder key means is our key a transponder key. I don't want to go to the locksmith that can only make it if it is not a transponder key

My key sticks a bit, see my new post if you can. However, it's insane to pay 530 dollars plus tax when the bike is worth around 2,700 dollars~

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

Re getting key out of seat that is locked. When that happened to me I called a locksmith and he opened it by using a jimmy on both sides at the same time with me pulling. He charged me 130 dollars for the pleasure of helping him open the seat.

AFAIK US model PCX doesn't have a transponder key.
Honda bikes and scooters thusly equipped have H.I.S.S printed beside the ignition barrel.

Strange the dealer told me there was no way to get the key code and that I had to replace the entire ignition. Beside the ignition barrel means the bike ignition area needs to be opened up to find the number?
They just keeping saying they need the number and they can't get the number so they have to replace and that takes 5.3 hours times 95 dollars an hour. Thanks :)

Anyone can clearly see that it is equipped with H.I.S.S. with just one glance at the red lamp blinking on its dashboard when parked. I'm sure thieves won't feel like stealing this scooter because of the major hassles that would be required to destroy its security system. In my opinion, this security system would be perfect if an optional alarm were also made available... My bike does not have a blinking light so I assume it does not have the HISS. I still do not know what a transponder means. I spoke with Honda Powersports and they do not know they have to call a specialist and he is not there today! So, one day at a time. Thanks.

This is a photo of what the ignition looks like. One key has the Octagon on top that fits into the silver lock that locks the top lock. The other key did not have the octagon on top and was just a regular key. Still a bit confused I don't think it has the HISS and I have no idea how to get to the ignition barrel. The dealer keeps saying the code is nowhere on the bike. Thank you

Thank you I will check it out. Also, there is NO red light on my scooter that goes on when I take the key out so I am not sure what he is talking about.
I am waiting for a call back from Honda Power Sports tomorrow from the expert in the PCX who will tell me what kind of key it is and how it works

Thank you all for your assistance.

A transponder is a radio device which scans for a coded electronic chip concealed inside the key.
Unless the correct chip is found the electronic control unit is disabled and the scooter cannot be started even by hot wiring.

Shouldn't Honda know what code was used (programmed) for each VIN issued!

I am not smart enough to really contribute to this discussion but I did look up where motorcycle key codes are located. (U-tube). The video said that it is beside the lock entrance. Keeping that in mind, that is a plate that covers the PCX lock. If anyone owns a separate lock, would you mind checking it please?

I believe the key codes are in the ECU.

Amazon.com $16.84 for one. Comes with magnets which I think you have to play with the combination to get the right strength so that it will unlock the "shutter" mechanism which covers the key slot. Still have to get the key cut

Good luck. I have one key and the key code tag but haven't ponied up for the $35 dealer price for oem or ordered the generic.
