My motorcycle instructor mentioned he didn't like putting more than 1200km or roughly 800 miles a day on road trips, even though he has a litre+ sport bike. It could be a fatigue factor dealing with a large and heavy sport bike that wouldn't be as applicable to a more upright seating style. 800 miles is as little as 10 hours on a large displacement bike and 12.5 to 13.5 hours on a 125/150. Not including breaks.
