Amazing picture! Thanks for sharing.
As an amateur mechanic, do you think I have the ability (and balls) to change the dr pulley rollers myself or should I take it to a shop?

I'd change the roller weights for you no charge, but I'm in San Diego right near the airport. Kind of a long ride! =P
If you don't have access to a compressor and air impact gun with a 19mm and I believe 24mm socket...then just pay a scoot shop to do it.
Yeah, look up youtube...it's pretty basic.

Its really easy if you have the tools. Good video on Youtube. You can use a DeWalt cordless impact Driver or an air powered one, borrow if necessary. I can make the change in less than 10 minutes now. You don't have to remove any body panels if you have the right ratchets and extensions.
I don't know what impact gun the guy in the video has but I wouldn't own it.

Just lay everything out that your remove, in the position on the floor that it came from. ( there are different lengths of bolts). And pay attention to how the variator comes apart. ( Video it!).

I will be doing this next week for the first time... I don't own any impact tools or the torque wrench it might take to tighten that back up. Maybe you could give me a shopping list and proper tool terminology so's homie don't make like fool down at Harbor freight
He is using lock tight (blue)?
