homie wrote:this is your driveway? I thought you said it was steep , I was expecting some downhill ACTION!
Maybe not the steepest shedder but I have to chock the wheel to hold position even with the e-brake on. Loading my scoot is the first good use I will get from this properties high side of the street other than that it's just a lot of shoveling snow and failing parking brakes.
Using a ditch like this I could ride up but backing the bike in might be better so whatever situation I find myself in upon destination I can ride down and at least get it off without help... still thinking this through. I prefer this to be a one man job if at all possible as the wife is a mousey little thing and won't be much help.

They all belong on "America's Got Talent!" Why not?
1) Man carries motorcycle on head, climbs ladder to roof of bus, to visit nearby country for "the ride of his life."
2)Young man rides ramp & loads Super dirt bike in 5' truck bed. Watch how He successfully does this from mid air "landing spot on for the tie down!"
3) Foreign construction workers humming a catchy tune whilst tapping their feet atop wood to the tune of the drummer below. All this with a "goal of sinking a concrete post." Will they do it?
Watch it all, On America's Got Talent!

You were posting your pics "at the same time" I clicked the submit button for my chatter above. I nearly lost my post. Gosh, I hates when that happens! And it has. But...Not this time
So! There you go, set up with a Single Ramp, no Crate step, and no security straps (that I can see) to hold "the" ramp steady (are they hidden?)
Next plan? Are there tie straps secured in the truck ready to grab? Are you considering a front wheel chock? And, perhaps a Canyon Dancer for the bars, along with some special soft straps you spoke of?
If you're going solo walking(?) the ramp, make it safer and easier on yourself. Setting up properly will help give you the confidence to get the two of you to bed safely and upright.
The pics are lovely homie, so's yer truck. Nice and sheeny

A crate to step on is good idea WN, soft straps on order so that will take a week then next pick will be serious with a secured ramp to truck, bike to bed and hopefully a successful dismount because that is going to be the hardest part for a solo act. I do prefer to master a solo process for the freedom to go where I want.

Here is your best bet according to reviews on amazon for a Canon Dancer to fit the 28" handle bars on your Honda PCX. The proper size is recommended and these are the (SHORT) so you can't expect them to fit your bigger bikes. When they get here I will know more.
There ya go! Excellent! You're almost on your way!

I would do a double ramp if I were doing it solo. If you don't ride it up, you are going to get to a point where you can't hold the bike and climb up into the bed at the same time. If you are going to use a crate, try two of them just in case one slips while you are moving the bike....like if you accidentally kick it. I have helped others load their bikes and their biggest problem was when the handlebar got too far up for them to hold the bike steady while climbing up to the bed. Let us know how it turns out.

Yea - there are some you tube videos trying to ride it up that are pretty ugly.

Looks very promising, ideas for the rear of the bike are welcome at this time.

Yes I will keep an eye out for a second ramp, the crate thing is too dicey and a confident off load is pushing this issue now. I don't see any other way but two ramps as a solo act.

YES. Double ramp, or wider single ramp or an added twin to your ramp are good suggestions.
The Canyon dancer is used by many as is the Cycle Cynch (the one I have), both make the job easier, neater.
The reason I chose the CC is I read stories where the CD's bar pockets rubbed the grips and marred them while being transported. How much truth to that? I don't know. I read about them being used on Vespa's. Then they started recommending the CC. Just mentioning this, no biggie, I'm sure
Where to hook-up a PCX in the rear? Always an interesting question. One I had asked too. Okay, let's see:
1) Get down and look up under the seat pan, do you see the seat frame? (Here, I have a picture of my 2011 to show you). You might be able to use that....IF we have the same bar on our 2015. I'm assuming we do. If so, run a strap through that.
2) This is easier: Safer? Once your scoot is secured in the front and both center stand and side stand are "UP" you can then run a long strap through the base of the rear wheel (loop it around the wheel and then take the ends to each bed corner tie point. Secure them tightly to prevent hopping.
3) Some folks put a towel over the seat and run a strap over it and then to each rear bed tie points.
Some even run a strap under the seat and then back to each rear bed tie points. Not a fan, but.....whatever.
You could probably get away with just a front wheel chock and two front tie downs (with soft ties if necessary). Just don't know if your scoot will hop back there on your voyage. Do not leave any straps flying in the wind. You can use short Velcro pieces wrapped around them to keep them from beating your scoot up.
I gotta submit this before I lose it

Very good tips WN... especially the flapping straps. So you don't letting it ride on the stand is a good idea LOL, I know it needed to be said because I'm sure someone has made that mistake. I haven't ever trucked or tailored a motorbike but letting a center stand dig into my bed liner will not happen. However there will be bed liner damage after doing this. If you have ever put heavy concentrations of weight on a Rhino bed liner you will know what I mean... I need to do some more thinking now you have enlightened me to possible bed liner impressions.

cont.
homie, please let me know if there's enough room under the 2015 seat pan to comfortably run a strap through it and out again without the muffler/exhaust being in the way? I think (?) it was in the way on the 2011.
You know how I don't want to scratch me scoot, yours either
that product link is designed for the same application as the Canyon Dancer... but I will keep browsing
thanks

No I wasn't thinking bedmat, but that's another good point. Just another reason Not to leave either stand down. I have a ProTecta BedMat in my truck, thickest rubber I've ever seen. Been in there since 2006. Lotsa action on it from moving and other stuff. Still looking new. Monk says
Think a bit outside the box. The stands are connected to your scoot...yes? So a bit of bounce or should I say more than a bit, and what gets abused? Why take the chance? You want the scoot free of stands and held by wings (straps) And if you by chance have a chock, that too. We don't need scoots teetering about higher in the beds than necessary (on pogo sticks). Making sense? You are a wise one, you know You want you and yer scoot to arrive where ever without damage. Kay? Go ask Monk or Jack! No! forget Jack, no help there

whitenoise, when you're right, you're right, and you... you're always right!
Standard smart straps from any home improvement store will catch that frame weld below the seat pan on the 2015 and clear everything on both sides nicely given this downward angle which is perfect to mate with anchors located in the 4 corners of my truck beds floor. http://www.amazon.com/SmartStraps-149-O ...
