, that's when they get smarter than you ...
When my son was 16 that was the rough year. He "knew" everything. I told him many times that year that he should move out while he knew it all because before he knew it, he would start to get dumb like me.

... He didn't move out until he was 25 but all was good. I am very proud of him and he is doing well for himself and his young family. We have a very close relationship even though I now live half way across the world.

Speaking of across the world, I hope none of our members was on that plane that went down over there.

Latest news is that two people aboard the plane were traveling on stolen passports. I hope it wasn't an act of terrorism by those two. The last thing we need is for it to hit this part of the world. It is enough of a pain getting through airports after 9/11. If this is terrorism, it will only make it worse. If it was targeted, it doesn't make sense that it was a KL to Beijing flight though.
But enough of that .... let's keep this about Dave, Noah and Maddie

Isn't it out of fuel at this point? I don't get how no one has noticed this plane going somewhere

We're still adjusting -- it's a continuous process.
He smiled for the first time last week, and successfully rolled over once too. He's getting big, and I'm still baffled at how much he poops.

The process doesn't end until you die ... once a parent, always a parent. A few years back I was speaking to a 94 year old woman who just had days to live and her biggest concern was for her 75 year old daughter ... who had been her caregiver for the past decade.

We have 6 grown kids and 8 grandkids. We still get calls from our 40 year old asking for money. No, they don't grow up and then you are off the hook. They just grow up. They still dump their crap on your door step, and you still have to hold their hands and tell them everything will be ok. I hope you didn't think having a family was a temporary thing.

No, we're in it permanently -- I wouldn't have it any other way. I actually find comfort in that thought.
I hope he doesn't ask for money when he's 40 though.
