Then there were two !
Picked up a 2014 Honda Forza the other day.. Got a good deal on a used one I found on the internet. Although I love the PCX , just got tired of slowing down traffic when climbing the hills around my area. With my weight it was just not enough power to get up and power up over the hills especially in the wind . I find the Forza a much more stable bike , adequate power , great acceleration and the wind factor is minimal. I can climb the hills with no loss of speed and the wind is insignificant where as before it had a big impact on the PCX. Seating is something I'll have to get used to as the Forza is sitting down in , knees bent where as the I was more or less sitting on top of the PCX with more leg room (hump removed).I was surprised at how maneuverable the Forza is and compares similarly to the smaller PCX . I find the additional weight is insignificant in positioning in the garage etc,. I think its a great bike and still getting the feel for it , but so far very pleased. Now what to do with the PCX.. Hate to part with it...runs sooo good .. maybe I wont.. Cant have enough toys you know.

Congrats. Enjoy the new ride. When I was looking for a bike in the US, the Forza was one option, whereas the PCX wasn't. I love my PCX here in Thailand, but knew that it didn't have what I would need for my US riding conditions.

Re: Then there were two !
Congrats on your Forza! Not trying to rain on your parade. . .safety first. . . if I were you I'd check to see if the Honda recalls were done/repaired. There are 3 I know of. . .the fuel pump, the rear brake hose, the starter magnetic switch. You've probably already checked it out yourself and my mentioning it wasn't necessary but I'm a bit OCD about those things.
Here's the link to the recall listings page http://powersports.honda.com/recalls.aspx
OK. . .moving forward. . .great description of the PCX riding experience vs. the Forza. I've heard it doesn't lack in power at all. Valve maintenance at 16,000 miles (shims)? And you say you can move it around the garage like the PCX. . .feels light although it's about a third heavier? How about putting it up on the center stand?
So the Forza feels more planted in the wind? Any discomfort with the seating position? Is the rear suspension about the same, better?
Again, good luck with your new scooter.
FWIW riding my 49cc scooter seems to put a grin on my face every time. I actually feel like I'm missing something in life if I don't get to ride it. My Suzuki Bandit and Kawasaki KLR are older now and have been my "go to" machines for many years and are a joy to have but there's just something about the Roughhouse that goes beyond words. In all practicality I do need a bigger scooter but it's just going to be a real tough decision for me to sell or trade the Roughhouse. I know what you mean about keeping the toys. . .
Time for another Saturday AM coffee. . ..

Re: Then there were two !
If you can keep both, why not? Insurance cost isn't too bad after the first couple of years, and excise tax goes to the minimum (fie clams in my state). Room does not seem to be a problem from your description. The only issue would be if one of the machines just sat around. I don't think a PCX that did 500 miles a year would be all that happy.
I too have both machines, but they serve different purposes. I use the PCX as my daily driver to work and around the local back roads going to students' homes. Most all of it is 35-45, maybe 50 mph, so speed needs are perfectly met. absolutely love the maneuverability and lightness. We use the Forza as a two-up ride, so it is purely recreational. It feels like a bus, but some of that is the extra weight on the back. I feel like I'm sitting "in" it rather than "on" it, and my back is not as happy after a ride (although the rides are sometimes longer on the Forza).

On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

Congrats easyrider good luck and enjoy it!
Pics of the brother's when you can get tuit
I get what you mean about riding the hills in Florida. Yes folks you read that right, Florida is Not all flatland. That extra bit of oomph climbing would be appreciated. I always compare it to my old 71 VW Super Beetle w/60 hp, but man when I had to climb a hill from a standstill I wished there were at least 30 more hp to getr' up. So, you probably did the right thing at the right price and gotcha a Forza. Not that important, but how many miles were clocked before taking ownership?
My opinion and yours I think, keep both bikes for awhile. Gotta first find out if you n 4za get it on

Re: Then there were two !
Went from sitting atop a Kymco 163cc short wheelbase scoot to riding my new Forza across busy city streets from the dealer's lot.
No test rides allowed ...so it was ease out into traffic and....s h o o t this is so easy to ride. Low center of gravity or something, love the seating down in....6'3" no problems. Smooth and easy to ride.
Honda took care of the recalls....and the valves will likely get adjusted by the 3rd owner. Or not. These go a long time between shim replacements.
Enjoy your Forza. I moved on to a new Burg 400 for the carrying capacity...but miss the Forza. It's a good scooter.

Re: Then there were two !
Thanks for all the comments.. It had 1827 miles on the clock.. year 2014 paid 2900.00 ..The bike is flawless, no scratches , bumps or dings in fact not a speck of dirt anywhere. Does not have ABS, but my driving is mostly rural so I think I could live OK without it.. They seem to hold their value down here ,(warm all year) this one is really a cream puff.. Picture per your request attached.

It really is "cherry" and red. Actually it's like you got a "showroom demo" for half price OTD. Deals like that don't always come around. . .
The Forza does have that sport bike appearance traveling on the boulevard. . .and still be able to carry a sack of oranges under the seat.

Re: Then there were two !
Yes, with the recalls done, this thing should last forever, just the way Hondas usually do when given
a chance.
It is hard on rear brake pads, though, so make sure everything there is kept clean and
properly lubed (I have removed the piston's dust seal hoping to reduce 'stiction'...will soon see
what that gives... but still can't quite figure that issue out. More to come on this.
Other than that, simply the best bike I've ever had, so smooooth, so easy to drive, so practical.
a chance.

Re: Then there were two !
The dealer states that all the recalls and servicing was done.. My OTD price was about 3500.00 incl all state and local taxes, new tag, registration, and title transfer most of which will be tax deductible. The bike is pristine as can be and sooo easy to ride.. I thought there would be a learning curve coming from the PCX.. There was ..it took all of five minutes .A real creampuff to ride...but definitely needs a shield.. The wind is just too much in the face and pushes back my helmet. I am ordering the GIVI tall.. After some longer rides I may feel differently but long rides no matter what you are on are a bitch usually.
Re: Then there were two !
You got a good deal there, but no ABS...
Hope you never have need of it, shiny side up and all that
I put the Honda tall screen on my Forza and sort of wished I hadn't, while it decreased wind pressure on the torso it had the adverse effect of increasing buffeting around the head and the windnoise also increased.

Re: Then there were two !
Yes, I really wanted ABS , but not easy to find around here especially with a good price. Honda retains its value . This was an exceptional deal and I felt I could not pass it up.. Based on the condition , miles , and price.
ABS or not.. I suppose fate will prevail no matter what.. ????
With a shield you have a bit more protection and something to duck behind . It did help on the PCX.. I hope it works as well on the FORZA.

Well howdy easyrider! Thanks for the photo!! I do say, you're looking mighty right sitting in the 4za's saddle! I hope you two marry well together. A few long rides, maybe to Homosassa again? will tell you more. As always, enjoy Southern life

Re: Then there were two !
That's a good price. Dealer gave me $3500 for my pristine 365 day old non-ABS Forza ....with 5400 miles on it...in trade for NOS 2013 Burgman 400 ($2400 OTD + my Forza) Did the whole deal by email, photos, and phone from 100 miles distance. A clean Forza is great looking on the dealer floor!
Saw him sell it for $4200...
so you got a great deal on your scoot.
