OWL
So this is the PCX Bi-Xenon 6000k projector headlamp/angel eyes from powerbypcx.com. These are real projector housings with the solenoids visible (due to the camera flash) for the high/low beams. I know it's the expensive route and I had thought of doing it myself but I had plans to use the turn signal lenses for some cree spots/daytime lights and the USA model is closed with no provision for the bulb receptacles. I intend to run the angel eyes and the cree spots during the day with low beams off. The other thing I'm not smitten with is the OWL's 'mustache' light area. As can be seen I masked off that area and went with 3 light coats adhesion promotor, 3 light silver metallic, and 3 (Ford) candy apple red, it's a bit darker than the OEM Candy rosy red but we'll see how it looks later, I might change my mind back again yet. I do like the un-mustachioe'd OWL look and the red will blend with the bodywork. Build thread coming soon

Re: OWL
Nice work!
Since the AU model has the indicators/turn signals/side markers in the OWL's ears, I put low powered Cree position/parker/DRLs in the moustache.
The Cree lights don't really cast any usable light, but do make me be seen. But ideally I would like brighter PnP headlights at some point...
Do the EU projector lights mate up perfectly with the US harness?

most of it's done already, mostly bolt ons and cosmetic upgrades, also upgraded shocks and a couple of home brewed mods.

Regarding the harness, I'll be finding out shortly

Regarding the Cree's, yes true but that's why I went with them (to be seen), the projectors will take care of nightime duties by themselves, the Angel eyes might need a bit of help during daytime. The ones I chose are 7w cree projectors with an 1156 base, and since we have the 'stalk' turn signals here I'll be mounting them in the turn signal lenses, higher is better. I'll put them on their own circuit and switch/fuse

Re: OWL
I like the idea, but not the work...it looks like a lot of work. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to do the same thing though. I have had my bike completely apart several times, and each time I wondered what else I could do to the lights. Let us know if the light assembly mates to the U.S. wiring harness. I know that on the American headlight assembly the holes are blocked for turn signals and the bottom area that you painted. I wonder if you would need the 'other' wiring harness in order to get everything to work properly.
Currently own:

Re: OWL
I havent truly checked fully yet, but what I can tell you is this. the HID lights have their own harness' with power supplied via fuse direct from the battery and the handlebar switch, the handlebar switch plugs into a 'controller, and on to the harness/relays/ballasts. It is almost totally separate from the OEM harness except for the switch. The wiring diagram supplied with the kit is very rudimentary and I'm going to complicate matters by wiring it thus...Mel46 wrote:I like the idea, but not the work...it looks like a lot of work. Angel eyes on/off
Low beam on/off
High beam on/off
Cree spots (in the Owls ears) on/off
I'll need 2 additional switches. From what I have read retrofit H.I.D. lights work best when supplied directly from the battery on their own dedicated harness. Is it going to be a PITA, Yes, undoubtably, given the harness is not really PCX specific and due to my own chosen lighting configuration. (Daytime, angel eyes and cree spots. Nightime low or high beam plus angel eyes, cree's off. I could of course run high or low plus cree's and angel eyes during daytime with this setup.
