To balance or not to balance : Wheels?
Any advantage to balancing these small wheels. I have not noticed any weights on the wheels so assuming its not a big deal on a relatively small bike like the PCX. I've had it doing 65mph , and it does vibrate some at speed but seems like a normal vibration for a scooter of this category at that speed.

I don't even on real bikes. Never had a problem just get the fitter to mount the marked lightest pound next to the valve stem

Re: To balance or not to balance : Wheels?
I got used to balance the wheels while I was racing. Less relevant on a 12hp scooter, as these rotational masses don't make much harm below 90 kmph but my RR was doing over 260 kmph at the straight on Hungaroring, and over 270 in Rijeka where it does matter.
Last autumn when I have installed the new set of tires I balanced them manually. The wheel neeed about 25 grams of weight at the front and 20nat the back. Now the scooth has significantly less vibration once I'm out of the city.

Very nice for you Oyabun! So you can feel the difference? Good. In this case, "Less is Better!"

Re: To balance or not to balance : Wheels?
Technically speaking, balancing a wheel should be an automatic follow-up to mounting a tire; however, practically speaking, it's not always necessary. A thorough technician will balance a wheel as a matter of course, but our little PCX's may not require it. I know the rear on mine needed balancing, but the front did not. I was unable to balance the front because it has such a thin axle, it would not fit on any of the balances I had to hand. Even so, at 60-65 there is no wobble, no vibration, so it's fine.
