Today I was planning on getting a second new rear Michelin CityGrip put on my 2014 Forza. The Scootsmart lasted 9800 km before it got too thin. The first Michelin has 15,000 km on it.
Yesterday I went on a final trip before I got a new rear put on today. I did 769 km from Hope, BC, Canada to Lac La Hache, BC and back. I started out in the rain on my almost bald rear tire. The rain stopped after about 100 km. I had no problems with the rear tire.
I pushed on to Ashcroft where I saw a red California small car that had been leap frogging me all the way up the Fraser Canyon. I talked to the guy. He was going to Alaska but was unsure if he was heading the right direction. The Indian Band running the gas station did not want to accept his US credit card nor did they want to accept his US cash. He had no Canadian money. I think some Americans think that Canada is not a foreign country. I do not know what he did, I left to go further north.
I got as far north as I had planned and then turned around to go home. The sky towards Cache Creek was very, very black. I made a long 200 km detour to the East. I had supper in Kamloops. I would say that a good portion of the people working in restaurants do not speak English. I think the Tim Hortons guy at supper had not worked long. He tried to charge me $15 for a $9 supper. No, no, try again guy.
I wanted to take the minor highways home but I was running out of daylight. I ended up on the Coquihalla once again battling with the 30 wheel trucks. The highway has a posted speed of 120 kmph but on some of the steep hills the trucks only manage 30 kmph. Lots of people die on this highway. The Forza was WOT lots of the time.
I got home just before dark. The longest day of the year is tomorrow (?) so it is light quite late.
I got up this morning and phoned Sidecar Willy's to get my tire put on. They did not have one. Last week they told me they had one.
So now I have a bald rear tire and no replacement for a week. Tomorrow I will try to arrange for a new drive belt to be put on. I also need a new spark plug and an oil change. I have the belt, plug & filter. I bet I also need so other parts that will make my Forza sleep overnight (s) at the Honda dealer.
I bought a lottery ticket today and really want a Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z. Dream on. Would get too many speeding tickets anyway. I better win big to take care of the tickets.

Re: Used Up a Michelin CityGrip
I am guessing that your City Grips is going to have to last just a bit longer, but I think know you are pushing get it. We buy our replacement City Grip tires about a month before we think we will need to replace them because of how popular they are. They are less expensive on the web, and it isn't that difficult to tie it down to bring to the shop.

Re: Used Up a Michelin CityGrip
What slightly annoys me was that I had planned several weeks ahead by phone and had a CityGrip supposedly waiting for me.
I will now have to actually stay home and go to work. I have things I should be doing instead of wasting time on a scooter. Important things like painting the fence and mowing the lawn. I have dead people's stuff I am supposed to sort.
