panel removal ???
Just watched a shocking panel removing video where someone ripped out the push pins saying they were not necessary anyway and Didn't cost much to replace.
If you are taking the panels off a 2015 pcx please use a biro or pencil to push in the center to remove, then push half way back out to insert again. I have never heard of such destruction. Author replied to me saying they had an earlier version which was not the same as the exact 2015 pcx... and Honda made a pin that needed to be snapped. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing. I have rented over 5 PCX's now and own the one in question and have never in all my life heard of a push pin that needed to be snapped out of the plastics. If so please show me one. Do not let anyone tell you there is a part of a scooter or motorbike that needs to be destroyed to take it apart.
Miss information is my one pet peeve. Will remake the video myself.

I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.

Re: panel removal ???
Yea well watch it again and read the notes and you would learn that the early model 15's had a different trim clip, one that you could not remove when reassessed like the four in the lower panel forward positions.

SHOCKING LOL such destruction of a .oo2 cent piece of plastic. When you are ready to put up a video of your valve clearance procedure to that detail please shut up and do it and i will take mine down.

Re: panel removal ???
I read the notes. We are talking about the 2015. Can someone show me what these pins look like if they were used on so many models. They must be around surely.

Lol. Videos coming up shortly. Show me the pin your talking about. Will just blow up and brighten your first video so we can all see the panel pin again before I repost an accurate video.

Honda uses these throughout their entire line. It's all over their Accords. And they all work the same. Either the middle pushes down and you use a pencil type instrument, or the outer collar lifts up, using a panel popper tool. Ours use the pin in the middle the pushes down, to loosen. Your reset the pin before you push it in by pushing the stem back up, to reset the pin. Play with one for 10 seconds and you'll get it.

Re: panel removal ???
What he said. Every push pin, tree pin and panel pins is well documented throughout the Internet. I just wanted others to know there is no need to snap, break or destroy anything on a vehicle to reach your end goal. Honestly it was just the wrong advice for a panel removal video that needed correction. There are many people here who have never taken a scoot to pieces and rely on videos for knowledge.Jge64 wrote:Honda uses these throughout their entire line. It's all over their Accords. To be fair, I believe Homie's vid's were the 1st to show a dismantling of a new style 2015 to do a valve check and are very thorough - on youtube for all to watch and learn and not pay for a manual, which even then is not as good as seeing something done. No point dissing it for the sake of a few cents pin!

Re: panel removal ???
Firstly it's not a Diss. If you want to go snap up the plastics then waste your time buying new ones that's fine. These pins are strong enough to snap actual fairings..then we start looking at more money. My point is its not correct information and shouldn't be a part of the valve job if it's just to break a few parts. Instead of coming clean about the pins I got tales about an earlier model and a shut up because I hurt his ego. I won't watch anymore vids from homie for this reason. Check the price of the pins it's not cents..A cracked fairing and number of people who watched the video. Your right..Most won't have the manual and this is the point of having accurate videos.iceman wrote:To be fair, I believe Homie's vid's were the 1st to show a dismantling of a new style 2015 to do a valve check and are very thorough - on youtube for all to watch and learn and not pay for a manual, which even then is not as good as seeing something done. Re: panel removal ???
agree 100% ...I have seen these fasteners hold on an entire panel with one fastener, mostly lower air dams on cars that get ripped on a curb and still stay attached...I did not see this as a "diss" at all.St.Clair wrote:Firstly it's not a Diss. Sometimes it's all I have left in me. I am not here to put anyone's noses out of joint, but I do have to speak if something is not right. Even I make mistakes...spelt screw(srew) and added in 8mm socket instead of 7mm. Thanks for the comment though. Safe riding.JohnL wrote:Congratulations, you're a man of your word.
