Wrong engine oil?

Hi, i have just serviced my 2014 pcx150 with MA instead of MB.
How big of a no no is this?
And is 800ml the correct amount of oil, which is what i believe goes into the 2013 model, when i mearsured the amount that came out it was about 1180ml, but i decided to go with 800ml and it seems to coraspond with the booklet i got with the bike. I have done three thousand k's with it overfilled!

I can't tell you if it makes a difference between MA and MB, but as far as the amount, check the dip stick. When you do, make sure the bike is on the center stand and not leaning.

MB instead of MA is no biggie IMO. There's no wet clutch to worry about.

As long as it's 4-stroke motorcycle/scooter oil there is not much to worry about - synthetic may be better for continued use but semi-synth will be just as good for most users. 2-stoke oil is a definite way to damage the engine

forget trying to figure out the right amount by numbers...why? because you don't have any idea how much you left in the pan. Use the hash marks on the dipstick. Put in 4-5 ounces LESS than the capacity per the manual and use a syringe/baster from the drug store or amazon to start putting in 1 oz at a time until you are mid way up the hash area on the stick. I'ts the only way to get it right. And on a small CC bike overfill will give you worse performance (windage).

Personally, I wouldn't run MA or MB oil, simply because automobile oil characteristics are more known than motorcycle oils, and far less expensive to use.
In the PCX, I'll only use a fully synthetic xW-40 or xW-50 oil meeting ACEA A3/B3 or A3/B4.
But that's just me. You have to use what you're comfortable with.

I use MA oil and have some of the highest MPG of any PCX user - 135 average 147 max ever (litres in and trip miles, all on fuelly) so saying MB oil gives better economy - if so hardly worth worrying about the extra fraction of a pence (and I never use idle stop so my mpg figure could be higher).
Don't worry about it - most advice here says any decent oil wil be fine, and many UK dealers use Castrol fully synth 4T or Motul or such.

Sure! Like I said, each owner has to decide what they're comfortable using. I'm not comfortable with the lack of available info & unwarranted high price on 4T oils.

Do you use a full syn MA oil? (just curious, really...)

Motul is a good make and 10w40 semi-synthetic has been known to be used by dealers / garages. 10w40 is perfectly ok for hotter climates, not so good to use w40 in normal climates nor 5w either as it starts to get too thick/thin for normal temps (10w30 covers -20 to +35 or so). I doubt fully synth makes much difference anyway, just nicer (apparently) to use it.
