I hope it wasn't a roll-bar, they might not have gotten the concept right..Mel46 wrote:Is the center metal frame something to keep the bike from coming apart? :-\ I can't imagine being comfortable while riding with that frame right where my legs go.

Intake doesn't look very rainproof
They all seem to be a mixture of the eye catching and the absurd.

A lot of bike like that have cover that go over the ends to keep the rain out and they don't ride them in the rain.you you wrote:Intake doesn't look very rainproof

I would agree that a lot of the are eye catching and maybe somewhat absurd. The standard of living is so low here that I think scooters and motorcycles are the equivalent of cars to many of them and it becomes somewhat of a status symbol to load up on after market accessories and customizations.

I am not sure what the spoiler is all about, but like I said in the first post, not everyone likes these sorts of things, but they do make for interesting viewing.

Re: Bikes in Thailand and SE Asia
That USA bike is totally over the top.
The spoiler is for added downforce, of course! He needs that when cornering.
These are all quite amusing. I like bits and pieces though -- I wish I could get the rims from the bike with a spoiler, those look sweet.

Re: Bikes in Thailand and SE Asia
Ouu...thanks kram, Like you, White I Like
Favs here are the 1st one, and last one (without pinky rim tape).
These one-of-a-kind PCX's are growing on me (a phrase we use here in the U.S. meaning: I'm starting to like them!) If for nothing more these owners are creative. World needs creative. These folks are "artists" and perhaps a bit crazy, but I'm diggin' it!

Here's another one with a Bride seat. I don't know how much they are but I believe they are quite expensive.

Re: Bikes in Thailand and SE Asia
So what is that thing above the CVT that looks like a muffler? Speaking of mufflers, how did they get dual exhausts on those?
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150
Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

the thing that looks like a exhaust above the CVT is actually a air filter.

Re: Bikes in Thailand and SE Asia
Mel, it is an aftermarket breather/filter. Here's a shot of the one on mine. I got it simply because I like the look of it, but as an added bonus (in my opionion) it gave the motor an bit more of a pop-pop sound when accelerating.Mel46 wrote:So what is that thing above the CVT that looks like a muffler?
