I've been on this forum lurking in the past. I've owned a few Genuine Buddy 125's and have finally had enough of the broken rear rack saga, so I replaced my current Buddy 125 with a left-over 2023 PCX. I'm going to have to adjust for the slight step over of the PCX but I'll adapt. I know I'll get 10,000 miles in my first year of ownership from just commuting.
I plan on either a light smoked PUIG V-Tech or the National brand. I'm also transferring my SHAD top box from my Buddy. I hope the PCX meets all my needs. I've owned 2 Honda Helix scooters from new and my wife had a Honda Silverwing scoot. I've also owned:
SYM CityCom 300i. LOVED that scooter but US support is lacking.
KYMCO People 250. The ugly bubble model. No local support should I need it.
Piaggio Liberty 150. Great scooter but no one can work the P.A.D.S. computer when the CEL comes on and it rides funny.
A few sports bikes (older now, like the ease of scooters.
To many weird scooters to mention. A bunch of Zuma 50 2-strokes. A P200E Vesap. Yamaha Zuma 125. Burgman 200 (hated that scoot) and a few others I forget.
Anyways, thanks for having me and I hope I can contribute something useful.

Nice catch on a new 2023 model.
I've been looking at both the Genuine Buddy 170i and the Hooligan 170i along with the PCX160.
I'm not a big fan of the looks of the ADV160, but that's personal preference only. I'm too old to even pretend to be an "adventure" rider.
How about keeping us informed on your likes and dislikes of the PCX. I doubt there's much to dislike. But most engine maintenance beyond a sparkplug replacement seems to require removal of several body panels. Beyond that, the larger dealer network and support in my area favors the Honda.
Again, Congrats on the new scoot. Keep us abreast.

Re: Bought a new left-over 2023 PCX today!
I'll do a comparison of the PCX against the Buddy 125 on this forum and the old Buddy forum. When I purchased my 2023 Buddy 125 I picked it because of its known simplicity. I spin most of my own wrenches and have the space to do it BUT I'm getting tired of doing certain things. I was quoted $300 from my trusted local Honda dealer to do the valves IF I want them to do 'em. The dealer said the 4000 mile check was silly and he knows how many miles I ride a year. Either way I know they'll have my back should something go south, regardless of my home service records. I do baby my vehicles with good maintenance done properly.
I've heard thru the grapevine that the Genuine 170 EFI engines are prone to "slowing down" in hot weather to avoid overheating. Not sure if that's been rectified or not on newer models but Modern Buddy will have what info you seek. The good thing with a Buddy is most dealers will allow a test ride unlike Honda. I watched a bunch of reviews from India on the PCX on YouTube. I was also looking at a SYM Jet 200i but my local dealer for SYM said the parts are expensive and hard to get sometimes, so Honda won out even though it lacks my beloved flat floor mandate, but the larger under seat storage should make up for the lack of the flat floor. Anyways, the Buddy scooters are quality built. Honda builds good scoots as well.

Simple is always better with me. That's one of the reasons I've been looking into the Genuine scoots.
Given the price and performance, the Buddy 125 may just be the best deal of the bunch, so I look forward to your review.
I've done a good bit of lurking on the Modern Buddy Forum comparing opinions and what not. But after numerous attempts to register and 4 messages to Admin asking for assistance, I've been unable to get through their question to ensure I'm human and actually register. It makes no sense to me unless their system has me flagged for some reason that I'm not aware of. Either way, there's lots of good comments on there and I recognized your username when you logged in here.
Enjoy your new scoot and Ride Safe.

When you enter your user name and password you then HAVE TO CHECK the remember me box before hitting enter. It's a weird bug that popped up awhile ago and the owner of the site has other obligations. My Android phone stays logged in though with no problems. My computer is a Chrome book laptop.
If you were in the Virginia area I'd do you a killer deal on my 2023 Buddy 125. I have a local dealer who will make me a cash offer or consign sell it but I still have to get the scooter there. My 2023 Buddy 125 has just under 12,000 miles, all services done to the letter (have a log book for it) and I think I fixed the rack so it shouldn't fall apart again anytime soon. I'm just done messing with the rear rack and never want to fix it ever again Always keep rear rack in the back of your mind if you want a top box on a Buddy 125/150/170i. If you don't care about a rear rack then a Buddy 125 is the best deal in all of scooters!

Re: Bought a new left-over 2023 PCX today!
I still need to post a comparison review of the 2023 PCX against my old 2023 Buddy 125 on this site BUT if you wanna read it now I posted one on Modern Buddy. I have around 35 miles on the PCX and it's been raining so no daily rides for me. My wife did a brief passenger run and said the passenger accommodations were to her liking.
I'm swapping my SHAD 29 top box over and ordered a back rest cushion. The rack kit (SHAD) is on the way thru my local Honda dealer and my PUIG V-Tech is on the way from Revzilla. I'll post pics when I get everything. For now, just to test picture posting....
