Tire Pressure
Before I take the PCX out I always give the tires a glance and sometimes a squeeze to see if they are up to snuff. . .. While riding I stay alert for sudden changes in handling characteristics as well in case I pick up a nail or piece of glass and the like.
Recently the weather in my area has taken an upswing in temperatures (Summer-like) so I figured I'd put a gauge on the tires to check the actual pressure and top them off. I did notice that they seemed a little bit "pliable" compared to OEM recommended pressure but expected that due to the effects of time and weather and riding.
The front tire was down to about 22 psi. Topped it off to 29 psi.
The back tire was down to about 28 psi. Topped it off to 36 psi.
The last time I added air to the tires was just before the onslaught of miserable cold weather back in December. So it's been about 4 months or so since they were last inflated. It seems on the average the tires lose a couple of psi per month. So it's good to not them go without any attention for too long.
As an added note I checked the oil as well and it was full to the mark and just slightly discolored. . .still almost like new. . .after 1600 miles. . .not bad. The last time I changed it was at 600 miles. Knock on wood at 2200 miles my PCX has operated flawlessly.

Re: Tire Pressure
On my 2017 I keep the rear tire at 36 psi because I'm a heavy weight right now. The recommended rear tire pressure is 33 psi. for the rider and 36 psi for the rider with a passenger. I'm glad they put that information sticker in the under seat stowage compartment for a quick reminder.I keep my tires at the recommended pressures. Front: 29, rear: 33
The front however does remain the same at 29 psi..

Re: Tire Pressure
I have been using 33 psi at the rear but recently found the middle part of the tyres getting worn but the sides had a lot of tread left.
So now I'm using 32 psi at the rear.
So now I'm using 32 psi at the rear.

Re: Tire Pressure
Those look useful. Does anyone have any real time experience with them? I always wonder with those kind of things if they allow air to leak.

Re: Tire Pressure
I wouldn’t put them up here if they were a problem. I’ve been using them for about a year now and they work fine, no leaks.

Re: Tire Pressure
About valve mounted pressure indicators - a number of years ago I had some similar indicators on a BMW K100. They worked fine - until some road debris cracked the clear plastic cover on the indicator.
Granted, that may be a rare thing to happen - but once it does your tire will go flat.
Be prepared!!

Re: Tire Pressure
I go with 25 29 for a more comfortable ride, the recommended tire pressure is too high. I could feel every bump x 2
