Service Help

Post by mkb93 »

Hi,

Firstly apologies if this post is in the wrong category.

I am getting my PCX 125 serviced by a work colleague (he's into his motorbikes/super bikes) but says he has serviced scooters in the past.

He has asked me to get a few things in order to do the service but i am unsure i will buy the correct things.

Air Filter
Oil
Spark Plug
Oil Filter

If i'm missing anything please let me know as never really had a scooter long enough to get serviced.

Current Mileage is 6600 ish, first service was 900 miles and done by Honda themselves

Really appreciate any/and all feedback given as this will help me alot going forwards

There is no oil filter on a PCX, only a screen that is easy to remove and clean. As for air filter and spark plug, how many miles are on the bike?
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

U.K, and 6600 miles at the moment and bike is 2018 model

As mentioned in main post, never had a scooter long enough to get a service done until now, and as I've had bike since new i want to do my best to look after it.

Won't need air filter yet, change engine oil, check brakes and tyres, lubricate pivots and that's about it.
in 2020 as well as engine oil change it should get new coolant, brake fluid and final drive oil, and when the mileage gets up around 12,000 a new drive belt and air filter.

I’d be tempted to drop the final drive oil too. It’s a five minute job.
