The rock pile is approximately where the stage was . . . where he sung from and rocked the crowd . . . way over yonder in all the greeness. Despite the clouds there was no rain the day of my visit!

There's a good shot of the crowd in this video from the stage view at that time in history. Today, looking across the vast emptiness and thinking of what once was in August of '69, is a real experience. Fortunately, just over the rise is the museum and concert area of Bethel Woods. They've done a great job preserving the past and having great concerts every year.https://www.bethelwoodscenter.org/
