Honda pcx does not exceed 90km / h, I think electric failure

Post by gestosan »

Hello friends, I have a problem with my pcx of 2014 and it is that the bike remains at 90km / h, I think it is electrical failure and I would like to have the workshop manual and the values to measure coil and cdi and be able to check that they are Well, if someone can help me out, please. Thank you.

That's 55 mph, not too much wrong with your bike if it'll do 55… Probably a Worn belt or weights....

It obviously depends on whether you have a 125cc or a 150cc engine. Either way, change your belt and check your weights for wear.

Also check oil not overfilled, air filter clean, brakes not dragging and tyres correct size and inflated to correct pressures.

Is the needle stuck at 90 kph or will the bike not go over 90 kph? The wording could mean either of those, or also could mean the almost impossible never varies from 90 kph. "bike remains at 90"

Google Translate translated it as this, for me:

1st post:
"indeed, this morning I left and had a parachute tied to the tail."

2nd post:
"Let's see, the most concrete question is whether the same thing happened to someone with failure in the electrical circuit, coil, spark plug, cdi, so that he orients me a little bit as he fixed it. Oil, rollers, spark plug and brakes etc the motorcycle It's great. Thank you. I already have the workshop manual to check electrical values with a multimeter."

When I accelerate to the maximum it reaches 90km / h and afterwards it is very difficult to run more, if I open and close my fist it runs a little more.

Most likely to be a worn drive belt.

When a PCX reaches the limiter it acts like it is hesitating and tries again and hesitates some more, back and forth. This is normal.

As the belt and rollers wear the bike's topend will decrease. This too is normal. Before checking other possible problems, check and replace the belt.

After 5,000 miles you will see a difference in topend. At 10,000 miles you will lose as much as 10 mph, and it will only get worse. As the rollers are worn they will do about the same because they are the weights that are used by the "transmission" that uses centrifugal force to set your speed.

The weights of the variator have been put new and the belt is not very old.

It could be the wrong belt or the wrong weights.

There have been discussions on this forum in the past about counterfeit belts, as well as the differences between manufacturers. Make sure you have a Honda belt by purchasing one from an authorized Honda dealer.

The least you should do is compare the writing on the belt on your machine with that of one that a Honda dealer sells, to make sure it is the correct one.

I think the OP is pretty determined to check for an electrical problem. Let’s see how it unfolds.

The electrical problem is it doesn't have a Zero SR motor and battery fitted.
