Hi there, hate to ask another question but searching has been a bit difficult! Thumbed through the manual and I can't seem to find anything on the topic.

My PCX150 is my first vehicle so I'm a bit clueless when it comes to just about everything. Anyhow, when I have the bike on the center stand and it's idling the rear wheel will spin on its own without me ever touching the throttle. It doesn't go ridiculously fast and can easily be stopped just by pressing my foot against it, but is this normal? I discovered online that some scooters will have this problem but it's considered normal, others say it's due to a high idle... and I have no idea what that means when it come comes to the PCX. If it does have a high idle, is this something that'll cause harm to my scooter and needs immediate adjusting? I'm still reading triple-digits on the odometer so it's essentially brand new.

It's because of the cooler air in Vancouver. It's normal.

Folks are always asking about the spin and/or the noise it creates. I did, and I'm still in question.

Who's to say "how fast" the wheel should spin while running on it's center stand? Should it barely move? Can it be told as...slow, medium or fast spin?

A Video demonstrating the "proper wheel spin on C.S." would be Super helpful Visuals speak louder than words! And then showing a hand spin to the rear wheel, would be most helpful too.

And, when I "hand spin" the rear wheel it's fairly tight & I hear a repeated "shush" type sound. (Sorry, best word I could come up with. I hate to say scraping, but somewhere in between lies the sound).

Maybe a "how to" in technical help? Okay, I'm pushing it now I'll be quiet, I'll pray.

My 2015 PCX does not do this when idling on the centre stand, and the rear wheel rotates both ways freely by hand. If I apply a bit of throttle the rear slows down and stops. I understand wet-clutch scooters should do this as the oil gives some friction in the clutch, but dry clutches? Seems to vary but not a problem if the rear rotates a bit.

I've got a Black 2013 model! I sort of wish I had bought a 2015 but I'm still pretty damn happy. Initially I was going to buy a motorcycle but just fell in love with the PCX, these things are fantastic and I can't imagine driving anything other than a scooter or motorcycle. The girlfriend is actually pretty supportive of me riding a bike... Though my mother still doesn't know, I'm not quite sure how to drop that bomb.

It's the bike itself trying to get the HELL out of Canada! It's too damned COLD up there! Lol.

This is interesting, will have to prop mine and my Hubby's 2013 PCXs on their center stands to see if our rear wheels spin on idle.

They will. Especially with a cold engine.

Great Steph, let us know how fast both of your scoots rear wheels spin (with a running cold motor and then when it's warm).
I was also wondering about a noise I hear when I hand spin the rear wheel. I think I hear that same noise (with my motor off) when I roll the bike forward too. I have to check this out again myself.

I'm curious as to how fast it's "suppose to" spin (cold & warm). Thanks

I seem to be in the minority with a rear wheel that does not spin when idling on the center stand, and no real noise to be heard rotated either way (just a very quite noise rather than pure silence, which being heavy with bearings I think is fine). I wonder if there is a difference in UK/US models re. the additional brake thingy US models have and how they are setup? Many say the parking brake was useless out of the dealer, so maybe the rear wheel is just a bit more free/slack than some UK ones?
