Re: Takegawa Variator (how to install an aftermarket variato
I had put it between the boss and the block itself. I'll have to look at it again when I complete my next service ie tomorrow. Are there any drawbacks to having the washer on the opposite side of the boss?

Re: PCX 150 in the shop again!
Just remember, don't punish a scooter you enjoy because of a pathetic dealer. That's like getting rid of a dog because your vet screwed you over on a bill. Just think about it.

Re: Takegawa Variator (how to install an aftermarket variato
Has anyone besides me put the washer behind the variator? It works quite well for me. This keeps the spacing between the belt halves stock and still gives the needed spacer for the nut to tighten correctly on the crank. At least with the NCY variator this was the issue for me. Without the washer I c...

Re: Stolen PCX 150 repair
The biggest thing to be aware of is medical coverage. I called our health insurance company and they cover accidents. Because of this I waived the medical coverage on my scooter policy which cut the premium in half. I didn't see a reason for double coverage.

Stock reach is something around 3.7". Also our bars are short of 27" in width and the bars he's looking at are 28-30".

Re: Something's not right
Belt slippage and damaged rollers can cause a similar effect. If the rollers get flat spotted or stuck the same effect can happen. Also you can shim the variator to eliminate slippage however that's not fixing the real issue, it's only a bandaid.

Re: Takegawa Variator (how to install an aftermarket variato
I have both a small and a large screen that I use. I will put the larger screen on when it gets colder. The highs where I live are averaging 50 degrees during the days now. Once it drops another ten degrees I'll put my larger screen on.

Pcxdemon, can you compensate for a larger screen/more drag with lighter weights to gain more speed with a slight top end loss?

Check the rollers first and let us know how they look. That is most likely where your issue is.

Re: Stolen PCX 150 repair
On the subject of how torn up it is, it's a bike, it has two wheels. There is no way that they didn't get some scrapes too. Look for the local boys limping around.
Also in 24 years old and my full coverage on my 150 is $15 a month or $180 for the year.

Re: Stolen PCX 150 repair
Parts from the honda dealer are dirt cheap. I had to replace several after laying mine down. Try advantage powersports website and you'll be able to look through the factory diagrams for part numbers. Also if you order through the dealer they don't charge shipping, at least mine didn't. Www.advantag...

Re: PCX 150 in the shop again!
That's truly unacceptable behavior from a service department. I doubt any of us have had abnormal wear caused by hard acceleration and excessively heavy loads. I've had 450 lbs on my pcx for over 20 miles with no issues. (My 65 year old father and myself). I'm just trying to say that obviously somet...

Re: Best Place 4 2011 PCX 150cc After-Market Upgrades / Cust
Honda skipped the 2012 model year with the pcx in the us market to give the 2013 150 an early introduction. So for the us there are the 2011 pcx 125 (badged simply as pcx) and the 2013 pcx 150 badged as a pcx 150

Re: Step, body, and seat mods
Check your local dealers website. If they don't have the link to the oem parts catalogue go to www.advantagepowersports.com this dealer has the link. From that link you can find your parts. Don't bother with the 2011 side panels. These should be the same part, just not in your color. (I have a 2013 ...

Gear ratio change
Anyone tried a get ratio change yet? I know pcx demon did the kitaco kit but has anyone completed this with only a variator mod/change? Does a stock 150 have the power to have a gain?

Re: CVT mods for PCX 150?
Ok I'll try to make his short... A low speed shudder means that the belt is slipping. When the belt slips it wears the same as when you spin the tires on your car. We have 1 mm of wearable surface on our drive belts before they need replaced. It is highly possible that his belt was slipping the whol...

Re: CVT mods for PCX 150?
I have read this before... Yes you need to shim the variator with sliders. It can cause your very issue of the belt slippage. Shim the variator and go from there. The washer goes between the case and the variator. Use a copper crush washer and forget it.

Re: Something's not right
Just the thicker viscosity but 10-30 to 10-40 shouldn't make that massive of a difference. Check and look at your rollers in your variator. Did they get flat spots? If not there complain to the dealer. Let them look at it.
