Re: What is your cage?
"Rice Burner" or "rice rocket" were the derogatory terms used by macho types on Harleys, Triumphs, Nortons, etc. The counter (which I always liked) was "I would rather ride my rice burner than push my Harley". Given the reliability of Japanese motorcycles over the years...

Re: Happy Father's Day, Dad, Pop, 'Ol Man

As luck wold have it , my MIL passed away early Saturday morning. she was a snick over 100, so not a terrible ...

Re: Great gas mileage
Milage is definitely one of the high points for the PCX, and I expect the Forza as well. You might want to track your fuel comsuption at fuelly.com - it is fun to check out how your doing and to compare to others, and, even more fun, to other machines. You can even include your milage in your signat...

Re: HI Everyone
Is there any way to tell if the replacement seat compromises the ability to put your helmet into the compartment? Not that it really matters to me since mine doesn't quite fit, but I still would not like to loose any more storage capacity.

Daytime Riding with High Beam?
I had a thought the other day (always a potential disaster...). Wouldn't running the high beam during the day give me a bit more visibility? I don't believe that I would be blinding anyone given that their pupils are adjusted for the sun (or at least daylight clouds). Does anybody think this is a ba...

HUGELY useful, Maddiedog! I know I am concerned about taking my baby apart, but at $300 for a service every 2500 miles, I think I will have to get over it.
I look forward to the continued saga....

Congratulations - I fully expect you will love it more than you think.
Hmmm.. Wife has her own helmet... two kids... might I sense another PCX in your future? We shall see how the Admiral likes riding.
Best of luck with the new wheels!

Thanks, Maddiedog. Not sure why gn2's pic went AWOL. It will be nice to have the more permanent record.

Re: So, I dropped my bike. A cautionary tale.
If it was anything like my try on a downhill, things did not go well. I escaped easily enough, but there are a couple of souvenirs on the left running board and a scuff on the handlebar end. Not too high a price for the lesson learned.

Re: So what its the trick to getting the battery door open?
Push the center of the pin in (I'll call this the "center rod"). This will release the "wings" and let you pull out the pin. To re-install, push the center rod back out so that it protrudes from the face. Re-install the clip, and push the center rod back to flush. The two-step ce...

Re: My days as a PCX owner might be numbered
I would have to consider the insurance cost of a second machine. While having the right tool for the job is always lovely, The insurance for my PCX is around $300. While I really enjoy scooting around, I would be hard pressed to spend the extra money to insure a second vehicle. I would rather put th...

Re: Average age of PCX/Forza owners?
Well, I cast my survey selection, and then the results showed up. Now the results are all I see at the top of this post set (although It also appears that I can change my selection and maybe skew the data). The results are displayed as a horizontal bar graph. and right now are almost perfectly norma...

Re: Average age of PCX/Forza owners?
Got the scoot just before my 60th birthday. If not now, then when? Once there is enough data, then you can figure out a statistically meaningful "average" using the midpoints of the categories and the number of members in the categories. But even as it stands, the graph shows the distribut...

Re: Looking at buying a PCX150 as my first scoot
I'm just a bit south of you in MA. My OTD last July was also just under 4k. I think your dealer is being reasonable. You could TRY $3500, but at that point it is nickles and dimes. Do the deed and enjoy as much of our too-short season as you can.
