Re: Helmet Hook
I did consider that, but trying to fence a helmet with a missing strap might be tricky. It's not like you can part out a helmet. I consider myself somewhat lucky. I park in a fairly restricted area. I cannot bring the helmet into work since I work at a jail, but the likelihood of someone messing wit...

Re: Helmet Hook
I don't see the steel hook and cable as flimsy. Since the only pressure an unarmed (or opportunistic) would-be thief can put on it is to try to pull it out, I just don't see it working. If the would-be perp has a cable cutter, well, then you are out a helmet, but then you were up against a thief who...

Re: Fuel economy
A worthy experiment. Thanks. Blinking fuel bar always makes me a bit nervous - nice to know I can go more than around the block five times before I'm stranded.

And as far as my actual dream car, it would be a Tesla. However, I got this link from my bro-in-law: http://www.foxsports.com/speed/cars/rad ... n-germany/

I don't actually know, but hearsay is that "peppy" and "good gas milage" are not terms used in relation to a Transit.

Re: so i went into the honda dealers today........
What I don't get is the cost differential between the CB300F (around $4000 plus assorted fees) and the Forza ($5600 plus the same assorted fees). Both are the same size engine (more or less - CB300 a tiny bit more) - the claimed mileage is pretty much the same (Forza, the slightly smaller engine but...

Re: Motorcycle Helmets
As far as security, Steph - do you feel that the helmet hanger that Honda provided isn't secure enough? I suppose in Detroit...maybe not, and out of sight, out of mind, but the wire loop thing works well for me. I even stole the idea and made a longer wire so that I can secure both my and the Admira...

Re: Motorcycle Helmets
Don't try, Steph. In a different thread, I said: Well, I thought that my large S&S2000 fit, but I found that the seat was bending a bit to accommodate it. I could see a bit of yellow/green peeking out one day, and then noticed that the seat no longer seals onto the compartment. If the fit is tig...

The class was great, but more importantly, the test at the end of the two days got me the RMV motorcycle certification. I took the class first because I was tentative about the whole two-wheel thing. Spending 4 grand on a PCX and then finding out that I didn't really like it was not in the cards. Du...

Re: Terrible experience at the MVA today
The registry is not lit by high wattage bulbs no matter what the state. In retrospect, having the dealer get the plate was probably worth far more than the amount they charged me for the service. A visit cannot be avoided with a private sale - it is truely depressing that the workers didn't have a c...

Re: LOOKING FOR BRIGHT LED LIGHTS FOR DRIVING LIGHTS
Hey guys - I just got an email from am electronics surplus place, and one of the items on sale is a pair of LED lights. I don't know as I really want to go into the wiring and trouble of adding extra lights, but I know some of you are adventurous. Check these out: http://www.bgmicro.com/led1203-1.as...

Re: Hello Everyone, Glad to be here.
A grand welcome to both of you! I know there are other PCX couples here, but not sure if both have a presence. It is a pretty fun discussion board, and I'm sure you will find stuff that Steph does not find interesting. You will also not have to have her ask questions for you. It should work out just...

Re: New Member In Ohio
I get lots of waves as well, but I do initiate them frequently. What the heck, my left hand isn't busy :) I can't imagine any oncoming vehicle being able to tell that I am a scooter vs. a faired sportbike. Maybe I am being naive or optimistic, but it seems that in my area, being on two wheels in and...

Re: New Member In Ohio
Congratulations! I've had mine for exactly a year, and am still excited to go out for a spin. My ride to work is only four miles, but it is rarely four miles home. My wife really likes riding pillion, and, at 3.7 cents a mile, going for a joyride can be done without the guilt associated with unneces...

Kinda like a really fancy granite kitchen counter. Very cool and elegant, but you wouldn't want to actually live with it day to day.
But thanks, Kramnala, for the peek.

If you wanted to, you could put on a protective film like http://www.amazon.com/Clear-Paint-Protection-Bulk-48-inches/dp/B004VG88MQ Probably it would be better sooner than later... I had a MINI Cooper with a dealer applied plastic film that did a really good job of protecting that rather blunt littl...
