Two suggestions...
A head mount - also works stretched over a helmet.
Rubber strap mount (reminds me of an oil filter strap wrench) - wrap it around the fork down-tube, around the left grip, around the passenger grip bar.

Re: what is the best way to shade your eyes?
A good pair of polarized sunglasses under my helmet. They cut the glare, as well. We live at a sub-tropical latitude - plenty of sun year 'round. I also spend considerable time on the water; the polarized sunglasses are essential. When approaching a vehicle with the sun behind me (they are looking i...

Black ice? That can be hard to stand on, much less be on 2 wheels. Be careful out there!

Re: Charge card for 1 gallon of gasoline?
Wow, 205 mpg! Figure again... with us riding together, it averages out to about 51 miles per gallon, for the trip. (Yeah, I saw the LOL face... must be metric math) Riding the scoots side-by-side (well, usually staggered) is part of the fun for us. Today, I fueled up our truck. The pump shut ...

Re: Charge card for 1 gallon of gasoline?
We fueled up today on the way to the beach... I was on the last bar on the fuel gauge, the wife had two bars left. A whopping $7.07 filled them both. I got 99 mpg, she got 106 mpg. These things make me chuckle at the fuel pump.

Re: PCX for dedicated high mileage commuter.
Our PCX 150s will do 65... BUT, my take is: the bike feels real "busy" above 55 mph. With a 100 mile 'round trip daily, I would prefer something that feels more relaxed at constant highway speeds. That said, I really like my PCX... you just want the best tool for the job, and for your situ...

Re: Using non-oxygenated (no ethanol) fuel in PCX 150???
I use the cheap 86 or 87 grade gas at the pump. It's all 10% ethanol around here. I haven't had an issue in 8000 miles. As long as you frequently use the scooter, the ethanol gets "rotated," and has less opportunity to separate out the moisture (causing corrosion). When we stored our scoo...

Re: Moderation, or my failure thereof!
Thanks for providing this place and all you do to make it a friendly place for us PCX folks. Years ago, I was a moderator on a sailing forum; trimarans - fast boats, lots of testosterone. It was a very active board, requiring quite a bit of moderation (and tongue-biting). Hope I haven't done anythin...

Re: Using non-oxygenated (no ethanol) fuel in PCX 150???
Pure gas would be my preference... impossible to find in deep south Texas. I'm a boat captain - ethanol is creating all kinds of havoc in marine gas engines; let it sit for any length of time, and the stuff stratifies. Ethanol is bad to leave for any length of time in a tank. I recently started our ...

Thanks for the reply Capt. Jim. We usually get out to Phoenix on and off for three weeks or so at a time from October to May. Welcome aboard. My wife and I have a pair of PCX 150s and enjoy 'em a bunch. We generally spend a couple months in the Phoenix area and find the scooters add to our enjoyment of the area... Urban adventure cruising.

That whole pickup-driver-who-left-turned-in-front-of-me-then-stopped thing prevented me from riding for a while. 20 years ago, but I still watch out for 'em.

I'll be looking forward to this ride report!! I've done coast to coast in the past, but it was on a Goldwing... OK, a pair of Goldwings, since my wife rides, too. And we were loaded - I'm impressed you did this on your PCX. Details!

Only one Triumph for me, a '69 Bonneville, back when I was a teenager. I put over 20,000 miles on that bike in two years ... and 2 chains... 4 tires... a couple headlights... and countless quarts of oil. 8) It was cool at the time. Until the first Honda 750/4 pulled up alongside me at a stoplight. D...

I'm old to motorcycles. ;) I used to think anything smaller than 1,000cc was a "little bike." I guess I've gotten over that. After 45 years and 25 motorcycles, over 250,000 miles of two wheel riding, the PCX makes me smile... OK, sometimes it makes me laugh out loud. I came to the c...
